How does a repurposed kettle element help to skin a small mammal?

I do all my squirrel de-skinning with the car. Works OK, but you spend a lot of time picking out all the gravel and dirt ...

A quick Google search shows an astounding 1,710,000 hits on how to skin a squirrel. Isn't the Internet wonderful?
