Popping over the amazon uk an Intel i5-750 is £158.96 & a 4GB Corsair DDR3, XMS-1333 kit is £69.36. Leaving about £100 for a decent board. An Intel DH55HC board is £89.23.
£317.55 & free shipping in the UK. Not to bad. I was just doing a quick search tho. There might be lots better places to shop there.

Have you had a look at Ebuyer.com?
http://www.ebuyer.com
Usually have some good deals there, where I get most of parts from

EDIT: Got a sale on at the moment as well

Depends how committed you are to building from parts only. If you don't trust yourself with the individual expensive components, one route is the Pre-Assembled Motherboard Bundle - the three items you're looking for, matched, assembled and guaranteed by the seller. Another UK supplier is Novatech.

Your windfall could stretch to an i3 at either seller, and almost to an i5 at CCL.
