Hard Disks. These seem to have the shortest lifespan. I have lots of spares of almost everything else. BOINC WIKI |

have you ordered the most? One of the guys I worked with could not keep the inside of his computer cool because of a prototype video card. The solution was to pop the case open and aim a desk fan into it at a range of 2 inches... BOINC WIKI |

thinking about that...just one fan on the opposite would cool..two fans facing, i could see a hot bubble...right on the heatsink.... |

thinking about that...just one fan on the opposite would cool..two fans facing, i could see a hot bubble...right on the heatsink.... Conveniently enough, the Scythe Ninja 2 HSF in my PC ia directly in-line with the rear fan (120mm Nexus).....nett result, when running S@H at 2.66GHz on a 2.33GHz CPU, it runs at 38ºC. There is also a Nexus at the front of the PC, pulling in air. I only really order bits and pieces, for complete rebuilds, although the next one, will only involve moving to an Intel Quad and a better graphics card - the rest is fine for a while yet.
