The problem may be lack of disk space, or some hung/blocking process. For whatever reason the assimilators just arn't assimilating.

Send in The Borg! That'll fix them.

I got a burst of downloads, but now uploads aren't going through.
Looking at the network traffic, it looks like the upload servers are down, or at least on their knees & about to fall over.
Also now getting lots of SETI@home Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server
messages.

Not on your own Pete.
Just got to 43k and I had 7 day cache set after the long outage.
The Boinc schedular has only just started to ask for GPU tasks, now that the rig only has 200 to crunch. At about 20 GPU tasks an hour that about 10 hours work.
The rig does have about 1300 VLAR's to work on.
The Boinc schedular does not take into account of the mix of work in the cache, otherwise I would have 7 day cache worth of GPU tasks as well.
I am using the rescheduling tool so I know it's my own fault.
I have been sending VLAR's to be crunched on the CPU cores.
I thought that was better than just killing them.

Since coming back from my vacation, I've had a total of 3 MB and now working on 1 astropulse WU. Not sure how long it'll take, since its been such a long time since I've been allowed to crunch, it started off with 185 hours, its now down to 149hrs, with 1 hour and 40 minutes crunch time. I've got the lunatic apps reinstalled, so we'll see how my laptop does on this WU. It'll be nice to see.

Yes, but there's not much of it. Out bound is way down & in bound much higher than normal.
And the assimilator queue continues to grow.

Yes, had problems updating, starting about an hour-and-a-half ago, but it managed to get it through (eventually) by itself. The uploads started acting up, not long after, but also eventually got through. Now, I've got nothing moving, just like 'that weekend'. Time to press that "big red threatening button"?

Two and a half hours now since the uploads started to fail.
No evidence of a problem on the server page though.

Ah, I see it's been noticed. Oh well, I'll leave BOINC doing what it does best and wait for the bods to get back in on Monday and untangle the wires.

Always the weekend that it breaks! Funny huh? ;)

Our machines working on weekends with the Berkeley servers down is becoming to be the norm at Seti.

Why sad? That's what BOINC was designed to do - carry the project through any downtime.

I'm sure if SETI had the money for new, beefier servers and diverse infrastructure then things would be different, but they don't so BOINC is the answer and does the job reasonably well.
