Wow, Guess I will never get to see how far my machine can get, no work and it's Friday. Sucks. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound!

Not on your own Pete. Just got to 43k and I had 7 day cache set after the long outage. The Boinc schedular has only just started to ask for GPU tasks, now that the rig only has 200 to crunch. At about 20 GPU tasks an hour that about 10 hours work. The rig does have about 1300 VLAR's to work on. The Boinc schedular does not take into account of the mix of work in the cache, otherwise I would have 7 day cache worth of GPU tasks as well. I am using the rescheduling tool so I know it's my own fault. I have been sending VLAR's to be crunched on the CPU cores. I thought that was better than just killing them. Dave

Wha........... I got 8 rigs wanking away at a fantastic rate......... What's all the crying about? Server traffic seems fine.....so SOMEBODY is getting work. Quit yanking the chain. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once."

Since coming back from my vacation, I've had a total of 3 MB and now working on 1 astropulse WU. Not sure how long it'll take, since its been such a long time since I've been allowed to crunch, it started off with 185 hours, its now down to 149hrs, with 1 hour and 40 minutes crunch time. I've got the lunatic apps reinstalled, so we'll see how my laptop does on this WU. It'll be nice to see.

Server traffic seems fine.....so SOMEBODY is getting work. Yes, but there's not much of it. Out bound is way down & in bound much higher than normal. And the assimilator queue continues to grow. Grant Darwin NT |

Looks as if upload problems have started again. May clear itself but traffic appears to be droppping at present.

Yes, had problems updating, starting about an hour-and-a-half ago, but it managed to get it through (eventually) by itself. The uploads started acting up, not long after, but also eventually got through. Now, I've got nothing moving, just like 'that weekend'. Time to press that "big red threatening button"? Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Two and a half hours now since the uploads started to fail. No evidence of a problem on the server page though. Dave

Our machines working on weekends with the Berkeley servers down is becoming to be the norm at Seti. Why sad? That's what BOINC was designed to do - carry the project through any downtime. I'm sure if SETI had the money for new, beefier servers and diverse infrastructure then things would be different, but they don't so BOINC is the answer and does the job reasonably well. |

Well managed to get around 300 Cuda units so at least it can work for a bit. No uploads but as long as we have work that is OK. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound!

Problem is if you have more tasks to upload than you have CPU's then you don't get any downloads. At the moment both my main crunchers are sitting on about 200 uploads and increasing. Servers still look ok. Dave

Why sad? That's what BOINC was designed to do - carry the project through any downtime. It's sad because apparently Boinc/Seti cannot function properly without constant onsite human intervention to keep it online. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Back-up projects, peeps. (Happily crunching Einstein, atm.) Haven't been able to upload the ones's I do have, tho. Oh well, someone will kick the servers Monday morning. 'Til then, we'll survive. Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. Albert Einstein |

this is an excellent time to do some spring cleaning in the farm boxes....the last few days i have been blowing out all the cases...(hack cough sneeze wheeze) then i'll collect up spare broken parts i have thrown at the walls or the floor. and boxes. then i might have some airflow in the dungeon again. |

I never run out of work. I even still have a Seti and Seti Beta WU that are only partially done. Other the Seti, I have three projects currently not supplying work, plus three dead projects on my list. Boinc is working precisely as the developers intended. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |
