This time it may become really embarrassing. I have to disassemble one of my hosts and put new hard drives with my home server installation, effectively killing this host as an SETI instance, and now I have to wait all this pile of data to get flushed back to the Black hole. Not much work left, day or something. What if I move it, all the BOINC installation on another Windows instsllation? Shall I take the chance to bite the dust? |

I have to disassemble one of my hosts and put new hard drives with my home server installation, effectively killing this host as an SETI instance, and now I have to wait all this pile of data to get flushed back to the Black hole. Not much work left, day or something. Just bring it down, pull out the disks, insert new ones, install and wait to the Berkeley staff cleared pipeline! When things are running smoothly at Berkeley reinsert your old disk, reboot and report all the stuff thats crunched and off course set first to 'no new work'. After youre done, reinsert your fress install and don't forget to install Boinc too! |

Yep, that will be the case, the one I'm trying to avoid :) Bcs of such pull in/pull out, and playing with disk around(I managed to pull out data cable of one of the disks and booted the rig without noticing it), now RAID5 array is rebuilding, already 13 hours, several more to go. Its all SETI to blame! :) :) :) j/k Meanwhile, I have summary 700 WUs on two machines to report. Who has more!? |

I will therefore of course uninstall and then reinstall the OS on my computers, as well as the Boinc client. I agree with your logic completely! I just finished my 17th reinstall of the OS today, and I think my uploads will resume shortly! Hang tight, will post my success soon! |

I will therefore of course uninstall and then reinstall the OS on my computers, as well as the Boinc client. I just replaced the fuses in my electric panel with new ones and it did not help. Uploads still don't work. Got any other ideas :) SETI@home classic workunits 5,429 SETI@home classic CPU time 73,472 hours |

I am doing my best to remain as constructive and supportive as anybody on the project, but I must confess that I am disappointed that there was no official news put forward today. If even to say "we are not sure what the trouble is yet, please bear with us". "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once."

I will therefore of course uninstall and then reinstall the OS on my computers, as well as the Boinc client. I think the best thing would be to try turning your monitor upside down, unless it is a CRT cos the colours would go funny then. This will hopefully let the photons that are blocking your uploads drain away. Let me know how it goes. It hasn't worked for me or anybody else I know but I'm sure it will work for you. |

Is there a way to trick BOINC into thinking that there are no pending uploads so I can download more work before the maint window? :) "Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think." "I never get into an argument that I cannot win."

Well at least we are getting closer... 3/16/2010 3:00:39 PM SETI@home Reporting 905 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for GPU 3/16/2010 3:01:01 PM Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 3/16/2010 3:01:03 PM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. 3/16/2010 3:01:04 PM SETI@home Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound!

Yeah, about 1945utc, I was able to get my whole pile of pending uploads to go through, almost all of them on the first try. Now we just wait for successful reporting to go through. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

Yeah, about 1945utc, I was able to get my whole pile of pending uploads to go through, almost all of them on the first try. Somebody's getting through: Results received in last hour 485,797 According to Scarecrow, that's twice any peak in the last 3 months. |

Well, I got mine to report but now I'm getting the "3/16/2010 7:25:26 PM SETI@home Message from server: (Project has no jobs available)" message. Ok, I need everyone to hit their no new tasks button and wait until I give you the all clear! :-) PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
