thats all well and good but we are talking about a person that promised to not have anything prewritten for herself and yet she has talking points which in itself are prewritten ideas and then she needed to write them down on her hand like a 7th grade cheater instead of just bringing a few notes with her.
the REpublican talking points are easy to follow and have the same general text. If you doubt it read Al Frankens book Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot and other observations he points out that Newt Gingrich made a list of key words to say about our side and words to say about their side. CLearly, Dear Sarah only needed the topics because shes versed in the "key" words to say about "them"
BTW yes I have an outstanding memory. But I am not averse from actually taking notes and writing down a grocery list.

/edit
I would also like to point out that I wouldn't make a promise to everyone that I would shop without a list then just write the major things I needed on my hand.

I agree, My Mother made a shopping list and I also make a list, Although I use a PC to make one with and I store the list with prices on the PC from the last time I shopped so that I can make My budget work, Mom did It by hand, She hated computers, She would have outlawed computers too, Even then I sometimes will run out of stuff like I did today, Coffee and sweetener(sweet n low) I have plenty of, Powdered creamer I'm out of, I'll try It black w/sweetener in the morning, Otherwise I'll be drinking tea until the 1st(no choice). Yeah I have a pretty good memory, Not perfect by any means and sometimes at random I'll have a lapse in concentration and forget what I was thinking about, sometimes for good, most of the time It'll come back to Me, eventually, in a day or so. If someone expects perfect memory I suggest their computers offline storage, As I've found mine to be rather decent at keeping stuff(NTFS), As long as the Nut using It doesn't do something stupid. Not to mention as I'm sometimes pretty verbose. Later.

Dr Sanjay Gupta on CNN has a story on that Here(Flash Video on the page).

The prices for those things do sound ridiculous so I'm wondering what the prices for equivalent products are. For the titanium screws too.

Dr. Gupta was also talking about the cost for covering people that don't have insurance or can't pay. This is a huge problem. It means that health care is a reality only for those that can afford it. It's even a problem for the many people with private policies that may not cover serious illness or long term treatments. Then there's the people that can't get insurance because of preexisting conditions that they or their family members might have and those that get dropped when they start costing the insurance company too much. A lot of people.

Well from what CNN has said the people Who are uninsured now will need to get insurance and If they need help they'll get the help, for the moment those with preexisting conditions will have to suffer with a high risk pool for the next 4 years, After that they can not be refused insurance on that basis.

Now one thing I find disturbing and very wrong is the hooliganism going on right now, Where People on the web are saying to people to go break windows of democratic party legislators(members of congress, senators and their employees are protected by Federal Law), As this is very wrong and should stop as the people doing this have crossed the line and have committed a Federal crime by breaking windows, As the FBI is on the case now. Protesting peacefully is allowed, Other violent acts, like spitting and such by Tea Baggers could be considered law breakers and It seems the militia movement of the 90's may be back too. This behavior is simply unacceptable and has to stop...

I've been doing some reading on the new bill. It does look like the reform will offer coverage to uninsured people with medical problems untill 2014. This is a good thing IMO. What I'm curious about is if the insurance companies can somehow challenge the part that says they have to provide insurance to those with preexisting conditions without increasing their rates above a certain amount. They might end up taking it to court to make the case that because they're businesses they should be able to increase rates to make up for losses from covering expensive people. Or, they might just decide to increase their rates for everyone. Like I mean 50 - 100% type increases. I don't know, I'll be paying attention to see how it all works out and what kind of tweaking to the new reform there might be up to 2014. Generally, I think that the new reform is more positive than negative considering the current situation. I'd like to see some sort of public option introduced later on though. I believe it would help as a balance against the amount of influence large private insurance companies would have. We do have public education so that our people can have basic educational skills and we should also have some kind of public health care for our people. And, I'm willing to bet that most of the people protesting against the public option saying it's socialism have been educated through public education.

When the House Minority Leader and chairman of the RNC come out and say crazy stuff like this is "armageddon" it's going to agitate things even more.

Here is a much cheaper solution. Doc in a box(urgent care facilities) that see patients for non emergencies that cost about 10% of an ER visit. sure its more than the family Dr. but these Drs. are still cheaper than an ER visit. Both ER and Doc in a Box can triage patients. which means an ER can and should not see non Emergency patients anymore. Non ER patient should be directed to DOc in the BOx offices. and likewise a DIAB can forward patients to ER.

DIAB offices can and should refer patients to a primary care provider in their area. Again, patients seeing a PCP for non-emergent events. I see a great deal of cost savings.

what I dont like is the cost estimates that are provided for this new health care law when we don't even know what we are paying for the old one.
Its all about the cost.

Soemthing like that might be a good idea. I have yet to see anything like this at a hospital here. I remember a hospital in Germany that had like a walk in clinic that was right next to the main hospital building. You could go there 24 hours a day and the doctor would do some basic checks on you. They could also refer you to various specialists in the area. If there was an emergency you'd get sent to the ER that was only a few hundred feet away. Also there are primary doctors over there that have you give blood right there. They have some of their own equipment like ultrasound and ECG as well so it helps keep the cost down since they can run some tests themselves rather that sending it all to a hospital where it's more expensive.

Surely, how a society treats the ill, is a measure of how civilised that society is? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't feel that profit should come from someone elses illness. I owe my Life to the NHS in this country....a trifling matter of a brain tumour, whilst my mother's father died through an Asthma attack (he was gassed in the trenches in WW1 and suffered thereafter) and they could not afford a doctor to visit him - months later, the NHS came into being. How lucky I am to live in such a society. How can, what is probably, the World's richest nation, have treated the infirm with such disdain, for so long? Is that not, in many ways, the same path as Eugenics?

That is pretty much what I would like to see happen. Will it? not likely. everyone wants their money
