WHAT A BUMMER..... I seem to be missing a smiley on the end of that one - please confirm that it was a joke? ;-) Otherwise we'll have to lead you gently to Number Crunching and explain how BOINC works. |

Why should I bother making any effort or spending any money on electricity if the project is not bothered enough to tell us what is going on for over three weeks. A great thank you for more than $5000 worth of electricity. Farther money will not be wasted. |

A great thank you for more than $5000 worth of electricity. Farther money will not be wasted. Could the interest in the project's goals have anything to do with the electricity you use? You chose to sign up for the project. I saw no contract that stated that as long as you pay your electric bill, the project owes you communications. I'm sure I've spent far more than $5000 in the past 8 years, yet I'm not threatening to leave. |

I seem to be missing a smiley on the end of that one - please confirm that it was a joke? ;- NOPE, Richard.... it's no joke... almost 2000 WU's reported that way. And I know that's not right. I DONATE money to SETI@home.... DO YOU? I'm just slowly BOINC'ing along. Hey... ET... you have a sister who likes earthlings? |

already reported as success If you're reported them once, then you report them again, you're not going to get extra credits for reporting them the second time!!! Claggy |

I seem to be missing a smiley on the end of that one - please confirm that it was a joke? ;- What that means is the first time it tried to report them, it got through, but the message that it did get through never made it back to your computer. Then the computer reported them again and SETI says I already received them and sends that message. Once the replica database comes back up, you will be able to see that they were returned correctly and will eventually receive credit/already received credit. |

A great thank you for more than $5000 worth of electricity. Farther money will not be wasted. True. It is my choice. Your choice confuses me, but hey, I can live with it. We were both made the same deal by the project, yet somehow you expected more out of it than I did. Sorry to see you go (and anyone else that leaves over something as trivial as this). |

AND NOW.... my third cruncher just reported 920 WU's.... and every one of them was reported as.... SETI@home Message from server: Completed result xxxxxxxx.xx.x.xx.xx_x refused: result already reported as success I sure hope that's a cruel joke.... and not the way SETI recorded all of the crunching my units have done. <sigh>... what a bummer. I DONATE money to SETI@home.... DO YOU? I'm just slowly BOINC'ing along. Hey... ET... you have a sister who likes earthlings? |

If you're reported them once, then you report them again, you're not going to get extra credits for reporting them the second time!!! No, Claggy... they all were reported once. Unless the SETI system somehow recorded them twice from each of my three crunchers.... as all three now gave me the same messages from the server. I DONATE money to SETI@home.... DO YOU? With your computers hidden, it makes it really hard to investigate the workunits in question to see if there's any clues left, perhaps in the result file. |

They'll have been reported on one of your failed attempts, but your computer didn't get the reply from the server, so tried again, i'd look at your computers, but they are hidden, so can't prove anything eithier way. Claggy |

SETI@home Message from server: Completed result xxxxxxxx.xx.x.xx.xx_x refused: result already reported as success Relax, nothing for to worry about. I had a lot of times this messages and I found the results in my PC overview and they got the Credits. Like the others explained already very well.. The server got the reports, but your BOINC client didn't got the well answer back, so the BOINC client reported again and got from the server this answer that the results are already reported. Look in your PCs overview.. ;-) ____________ [Optimized project applications, for to increase your PC performance (double RAC)!][Overview of abbreviations, which are used often in forum and their meaning.] |

As Sutaru said, look at your tasks page online. I answered the same question earlier but his computers weren't hidden so I could see the work units myself. I don't know why it is taking more than one attempt to send everything in but you are getting credit for the work. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

I don't know why it is taking more than one attempt to send everything in but you are getting credit for the work. That would be communications overload at the servers. The packet up got through, but the packet sent back to acknowledge that they were received got lost. BOINC WIKI |

YEP.... my pending credit jumped by 170,000 so far... so I think the server accepted the WU's at some point, but didn't clear them from my TRANSFERS queue. Then they reported again.... when the system came UP this evening. WHEW... that's a relief. I DONATE money to SETI@home.... DO YOU? I'm just slowly BOINC'ing along. Hey... Re Donald: I have left. Your choice. I've made mine. God there are some moaners in the world... Minutes later it was fixed. |
