Here's a question:

Is there a monitoring tool that if it was running on the upload server would have/could have alerted someone to the "RST" messages Richard and Ned are seeing?

Could we add a "RST" count to the status page?

I know, my mind is wandering again...(it does what it does.)

[edited] technically, that was two questions..I have coupon...:)

And what will you do if you are at the lab?

Will you:

A) Restart this "nice big Cisco router"?

B) Check/replace the LAN cables between servers and the switch/router?
(I'm not sure of the configuration used)
Especially the cable to Bruno.
I suspect someone in the hurry stepped on or stumbled over the cable.
This will make the interconnection between the server and the router unstable (many errors and retries) which is not visible from outside I think.

C) Restart Bruno?

Or, if you're on the crew here at BNSC.....

D) Chug a beer, scarf a couple slices of pizza, and further contemplate A, B, and C

Don't worry Bill G, that's just because everyone is hitting the servers all at once. It should calm down before too long and everyone will get their share.

I await some work from SETI, it is now all gone. Other work is taking up the slack time. Thanks for answer.

Are you sure? Mine have uploaded too, but "too late to validate". Server is kidding, 8 days down and then too late to validate, nice joke.

Can you show which ones are too late to validate? You have far too many computers and far too many results to search through manually.

[Edit] Nevermind, I found them: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=5225393&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4

Message 973391 - Posted: 23 Feb 2010, 2:35:10 UTC

I have the following three WUs which have been in a "Downloading" status for at least one week if not longer on the Task tab.

setiathome_enhanced 6.03 21mr07af.12182.481.10.10.199_1
setiathome_enhanced 6.03 20fe07af.4142.72.16.10.62_1
setiathome_enhanced 6.03 20fe07af.4142.72.16.10.44_1

AK_v8_win_SSE_P3.exe is on the Transfer tab for about the same amount of time.

Is this related to what Pappa has posted?

Thanks
