Do you use the time wisely like cleaning your machine? Do you spend more time with your cats? I think I am going stir crazy...But my remodel is getting done....

Message 971663 - Posted: 19 Feb 2010, 15:18:10 UTC - in response to Message 971661.

I spend more time with family (including the dog) and working on my totally nerdy web pages.

And last night I watched Canada just barely beat Switzerland in Olympic men's hockey. What a cliff hanger.

I understand the swiss put a lot of money in their hockey team and the quality is showing. They looked pretty good against the Canadians

They also had a head coach from the great city of Steinbach, Manitoba. And they did look very good. Their goalie saved their bacon several times. I think he plays regularly in the NHL.

In any case I must agree, Seti is broken, Soon I'll have no work and nothing will have uploaded, possibly for another week, After that I may as well just uninstall as It's not going to make a difference.

All I know that I have one WU running and seven awaiting validation. I have no CUDA and my Opteron 1210 running Linux at 1.8 GHz is not the fastest CPU. But I am using an optimized app from Lunatics.

One of the PCs has 2 WUs left and when those are done, it will be getting a thorough cleaning out as it has been running a little warmer than usual. Aside from that, nothing much will change - wharever I do, the cats will still walk on the keyboard!

Nah, not the US, it is the Swedish team that has me a little concerned.

Hiamps, the staff is fully aware of all the problems. Eric thinks it is going to take some time before everybody is able to receive and return work and things are running smoothly again. I don't know what else to do for you friend.

The machines cooked when the A/C quit. There are going to be drive failures and re-syncs for some time to come. It will sort itself out. Ignore it and your B/P will go down.

Is that the same as throwing your toys out of the pram?

I haven't been able to send / receive work for a week - in part down to bad timing, i.e. I have been on when the project hasn't.

Shit happens. Eric & the guys will fix it. Everyone will be all smiles again.

Eric is painfully aware of the situation.
I simply have had no answer as to the solution.

You guys DO all know that Seti staff members are all crunchers as well, right? I'm pretty sure that all of them run S@H on their work and/or home machines. What you know, they know. Eric and I have stuff on our home machines we have been unable to upload as well.

I think it is so sweet that some of you crunch exclusively for Seti. (I do so as well, but for less noble reasons... I only do it because I have one small machine!) Please know that Eric crunches multiple projects himself. There is a great deal of mutual respect between users and staff members of the various projects. Please oh please do not crunch Seti exclusively if down-times like these affect your health and well being.

Fondly,
Angela

And please understand that my respect for you and hubby is immense.
But, as one of your top contributors, I have the right to complain too.

I am sure Eric would fix it if he could.

And be careful who you fondle with your tagline..
