Agreed, Bill. Unfortunately, for many Americans, it seems complaining about insignificant things means pushing for someone else to make you happy instead of finding happiness yourself.

I spend more time with family (including the dog) and working on my totally nerdy web pages.

And last night I watched Canada just barely beat Switzerland in Olympic men's hockey. What a cliff hanger.

Later Canada has to face the US, Prepare for de-feet. ;)

Nah, not the US, it is the Swedish team that has me a little concerned.

Oh darn, you beat me to THE milestone.

OMG, that sounds so Canadian!

Up here, almost all complaints end with ".. and why isn't the government doing something?"

And if the government does do something, then they complain about high taxes. Really leaves you in despair for humankind. Or at least Canuck-kind.

And please understand that my respect for you and hubby is immense.
But, as one of your top contributors, I have the right to complain too.

Being a top contributor does not grant one a right to complain. This is all volunteer, so regardless of how much work done or are doing, you are still no better than the rest of us.

Your right to complain is by merely being a volunteer. Don't try to raise yourself above the rest of us and stop acting like you're top cat around here.

My right to complain loud and long is validated by me willingness to stay here.

Complaining about complaining about complaining is still complaining.

And besides, I was commenting, not complaining. And before somebody else posts it:

Commenting about complaining about complaining about complaining is still complaining.

A guy joins a monastery and takes a vow of silence: he’s allowed to say two words every seven years. After the first seven years, the elders bring him in and ask for his two words. "Cold floors," he says. They nod and send him away. Seven more years pass. They bring him back in and ask for his two words. He clears his throats and says, "Bad food." They nod and send him away. Seven more years pass. They bring him in for his two words. "I quit," he says. "That’s not surprising," the elders say. "You’ve done nothing but complain since you got here."

I've heard this joke before, and it seems very apt right now. :)

My life changes very little when SETI is down. I have a backup project to keep things running and I don't play around with special builds so everything is setup and forget. The main way I know that SETI is down is because Safari has a favored web location set to the Cricket graph. If I had to spend time tweaking BOINC projects every day or week i wouldn't have them in my computer.
I find the forms interesting and if they are down, they impact me more that the crunching side of things.
What will have a big impact on me is our condo complex is being rewired and sometime in the next couple of months, our power will be out for 5 hours. I will need to go back to reading books or running on the laptop for as long as the battery holds out (4 to 5 hours if I am lucky).

Specific statements of facts aren't complaints. Accusations to the contrary are rants.

AHA! (pulls old debating club notes off of shelf, blows off dust)

How do we know your alleged "specific statements" are, in fact, statements, or facts? Why are they not simply accusations? Is this not a matter of perception and opinion? Why is your opinion more valid than my specific statements of fact? What differentiates a rant from a statement?

Can you quote specific references? Can I completely demolish those references?

Oh sorry, wasn't supposed to read that last bit from the notes.

LBJ just could not take this lightly......his secret society was about to collapse.
JFK told the truth once too often.

His words tear my heart out in the context of today's society.
If he only knew. But.....I think he did.

He was about to tear apart the 'secret society' and that's why he was killed.
'They' just could not have that.

This was an inside job. And that's why it was so cleverly hidden for so many years.

Warren commision......what a farce. 'Single Bullet'....double that at least.

'Grassy knoll'? You betcha.

LHO? He didn't even know his target.

You folks better get this straight in the next few years I have on this planet.

Or I will never forgive you.
