I can't believe cities and Countries aren't outlawing Masked Protesters at events and Rallies. I personally don't care about anyones Agenda when they have to destroy property and wear masks to get their point across. Almost every demonstration where things get out of control are started by *ssholes wearing masks. I think anyone caught wearing a mask at a protest should be arrested and their picture all over the news. Watched Masked people breaking windows in Vancouver, they should be arrested and shown to the public. Maybe their parents would quit funding them....

I'd much rather the people who don't wear masks be the ones arrested. You know, the Smart Ones. The ones who have the money, power and lawyers to find ways to rape and pillage us ones without the smarts, money, power and lawyers.

Gosh, the fairness involved is mind-boggling.

Frankly, I'd arrest both types.

But in fairness, that was the only protest during the Games that got really ugly.

Most were vocal, occasionally ear shattering, but non-violent.

OTOH, in Vancouver, it seems that someone is always protesting something.

BTW Did you know that wearing a ski mask doesnt hide your face from face recognition software. it can still determine the contours of your face and get a good idea of who you are. So if you want to hide your identity with a mask make sure you place contour changing items under the ski mask.

Vancouver sounds like a colder version of Washington DC, Where a lot far right wing nutjobs have shown up at lately, among others that is.

In Vancouver it is mostly left wing nutjobs, but a nutjob is still a nutjob.

Of course some protesters are using the cover of darkness to mask themselves with as they've been throwing rocks and mailing in death threats to the US Congress, which is an act of terrorism and is crossing the line, All cause of continuing Republican FUD against the new US health care law. That sounds almost like California Republicans in the legislature, All they want are cuts and yet most Californians simply do not support Cuts(pdf).

Public schools: 79% oppose cuts, 20% favor cuts
Public assistance for elderly and disabled: 77-21
Health care for low-income and poor: 71-26
Higher education: 70-28
Law enforcement: 67-31
Mental health: 65-31
Child care: 59-38
Welfare: 57-40

Oregon voted on raising taxes on incomes over $250,000 and large corporations to generate $733 million to close the state's budget deficit. Their propositions 66 & 67 passed. If they can do It, Why can't We in California do It? And there are $40 Billion in Tax loopholes, Some of which could be closed, Especially If they bring in less in income taxes from employment than they cost the state in corporate tax revenue that's lost.

Anything that ends in raising taxes will only make things worst. History shows us that you must cut cost and taxes if you want the economy to recover. Government employes will hurt and people who rely on government services will hurt. Why are we paying for illegals medical care and schooling when we are unable to pay for our own? It's a matter of making hard decisions, something the democrats have not been able to do for years and show no signs of starting.

I thought you guys were going to legalize Pot and tax the heck out of it and save the day? Isn't that what the Governator has proposed, I heard it is on the ballot. My goal is to make 250,000 a year, not there yet but work hard towards it and don't want to get taxed back down if I do ever make it.

I didn't think the Governator proposed it. I did hear it got enough signatures to make the ballot. I also heard that Humboldt County will go bankrupt if it passes.

Dena the taxes were not on people of no consequence, Look at the incomes, Do You make that much? I don't think so, So why defend those Who've had tax cuts? They aren't the middle class, these people won't flinch as It's a cost of doing business and a responsibility. There is an initiative on the ballot to do that, Beyond that I don't know. Government is a good thing and It's a citizens duty to pay their fair share, If they can and Governments do have the power to tax, It's not like the state income tax rate in Oregon is higher than 9% currently hiamps.

Oregon State Income Tax Rates wrote:
If your income range is $7,601 and over, your tax rate on every dollar of income earned is 9%.

Oregon voters pass tax increasing measures by big margin wrote:
Measure 66 raises taxes on households with taxable income above $250,000, and Measure 67 sets higher minimum taxes on corporations and increases the tax rate on upper-level profits.
