Looks like I've lucked out today. Weather Service has an extreme heat advisory that ends 12.3 miles to my south. It's amazing how the 95+ degree heat and low 80 degree dew points know to stop at the county line.

That reminds me of how it always starts to rain precisely when I pass the Lancashire/West Yorkshire border...

The rain may never fall till after sundown.

Same down here Rick. Had to run the a/c all night, just because of the humidity. Calling for a high of 30 C (86F) with 80%+ humidity, and a chance of thunderstorms in the PM.

"Dry heat" or "moist heat", either way, when the temp gets above 75f, me and my beer belly are operating way above our UATT*

That's what I have to do here with the swamp cooler, Of course Here It's mostly not the Humidity, It's primarily the heat most of the time and sometimes It's both.

It's a real B^%$& when the Humidity and Heat combine to the point where you have to chew the air to breathe it! LOL! Seriously though, as one who watches the weather daily for my job I can't remember a summer like this one. (*not complaining*) 20 odd years of growing grass at less than 1/8" and I can remember Hot Humid Spells that lasted a couple of weeks to a month. Even droughts that lasted 13 weeks, (88 was one of them years) but we are now into month 3 of hot, muggy weather where the average around here is 6 days a year above 30 Deg C. Oh well could be worse ... the beer fridge could be broke :-) ! (knocking on wood that don't happen)

Happy Summer All! Get out and enjoy it. The deep freeze will return and we'll all be house bound again!

FORE!!!
Rick

Drought stricken? not up here. we had one really sunny day in the past two or so weeks. Still not enough rain to cover the autumn/winter/spring shortfall though.

Yes, there's not enough water in the reservoirs, and the current rainfall is unlikely to make up for that. But to me a drought is, if it doesn't rain :P

We just had a small rain shower here, the first in 3 weeks ..... According to my ever trusty weather station it was a whole 0.04" which in drought stricken Britain is a whole lot at the moment! :-)

Oh how that's changed!
