Ok I'm updating My thread here, I just assembled My Latest Wireless Nic card, This is the Wireless Nic for the P7P55D Pro motherboard, It's supposed to do SuperG and It's a pci-e 1x card, Plus It's upgradable too. :D

It does require a smaller phillips screwdriver as the two hold downs next to the two antenna leads are located at, had to be moved to fit the mini pci-e card and to secure the mini pci-e card to the 1x pci-e card. Cool Eh?

Alright, As I'd said elsewhere, I said I'd be providing another picture soon, Well here It is:

Note the 2 Antennas on the left, I put the pci-e x1 card into the slot without removing the antenna and they are both hooked up to the mini pci-e card(AR5BXB61) and the card It's mounted on is an MP2W pci-e x1 card, the driver can be found on:
AR5BXB61/AR5006EG/AR2424(The letters and numbers to the left are what You should look for in a driver)
I downloaded an XP x64 driver for My OS(XP Pro x32, Vista x32, Vista x64 and Linux are available), Of course this is for the mini pci-e card, The MP2W does not need one as It's merely an adapter that's upgradeable too.
AR5BXB61/AR5006EG/AR2424.

If You want any Atheros Driver for the above listed OSes, Go to http://www.atheros.cz/ for them, They do work, But there is no hand holding here.

MP2W pci-e x1 card w/AR5BXB61 card attached(AR5006EG driver needed to duplicate this card, Card now has 2 antennas, Middle is empty still as there are only contacts for 2 on the AR5BXB61 card).

Any comments?

Looking a very nice bit of kit.

What RAC are you anticipating from it?

Maybe 40,000 to 60,000 and that's under XP x64 of course.

Thanks Andy.

Oh and the MP2W card can be used with USB internal or External, It comes with a cable for external, But internal I didn't see a cable, just a place to attach a 5(10 or 5x2) pin cable to.

Oh and I almost forgot the AR5006EG link, Sure there are no drivers there, But hey the info there is priceless.

I'll bet that would run WoW very nicely, apart from the XP64.

Yeah It could, But I spend what extra money I get elsewhere, like on the car, PCs, an aquarium(100 gallons), personal property taxes(My mobile home), movie dvds, etc. :D

Anyway, it looks very nice and your wireless card is a nice build, too.
Sure will put out a lot of heat, with 3 295's and an 25% OC'ed
i7 or i5. :)
Sure hope we get some (more) WU's, as I haven't seen much of them, lately.

That is a totally cool setup. The horse power is going to be light years away from what was possible just a short time ago. That would play a mean game of solitare.

Thanks Fred, It's going to be water cooled with 4 fans(If I get 3.5GHz to 4.1GHz I'll be happy), All Delta, Later I may build a custom water cooling setup, But for the moment an Asetek 240x120 cpu cooler will do I'd think, Of course 2 of the fans will be 113cfm fans and the other 2 are 130cfm and I'll have to buy twice as many DEMCiflex "dust" filters which are made in South Africa, But since their washable and such they do work, I just peel one off of the present setup and slap the 2nd one on and clean the dirty one like a dish using the sponge side of a scrubber sponge plus some dishwashing soap like Dawn and blow the water from It and let It dry in the dishwasher(I blow on It here as the water has calcium carbonate and some iron in It, As the water here is from a Well, Not a river), The water would evaporate and leave the calcium carbonate behind If I didn't, What's left isn't much and It's a fine white mesh, So It gets a lot of dust, So I'm happy. Oh and It'll be an i5 750, The others are a bit pricey and the 750 is good enough for Me and I'll leave the 480 cards to someone else, I like them, But from what I read they are Hot(Literally), use almost as much wattage as a 295 and give only 10-15% more performance(Unless Slied, then It's double everything and still only 10-15% faster than a pair of 295 cards), I'd rather perform herbicide(below) and and I think after the 1st I will. Mwahahaha ;)

You know what's the best part of the wireless card Fred? I can easily upgrade It to support "N" If I wanted to, Or to whatever standard that comes after It in the future. I bought both items off either ebay or the http://www.redtron.com/ website for the MP2W x1 pci-e card, It's in Taiwan I think, As the Bank charged Me a foreign transaction fee on the use of My debit card, ebay would be better though. The other card being a Mini pci-e wireless card could be any, Some of the links I've already posted may be of some help there.

I finally got the 2nd Mini PCI-E x1 card that does SuperG or 108Mbps, This one is for the current PC(an Asus P5K Deluxe, I have two, One isn't being used, No case or psu for the 2nd motherboard & cpu w/ram, etc.) and so I'll have to get another card like in the 1156 PC and I'll see just how well pci-e does over regular pci and this one was $2 less than the 1st one @ $7.95 w/Free Shipping, He's selling them for $6.95 now w/Free Shipping, But cause of the way He likes to make a mailing label(to save on ink costs I'd guess, as He made some really minimalist labels) He had to mail It out twice as the 1st time the Post Office noted He only put the 1st 5 digits of My zip code, When 9 are required here or the package is returned to the sender by the Post Office. The adapter card(2nd pic) will set Me back $47.89 total, Oh and I only need to use two antennas on these cards.

Sorry Wembley, But It's an N card(300Mbps) and so It does not support Super G/108Mbps(Atheros chipset), So the adapter card is My only route as I don't feel like buying a whole new router to replace a fairly new Netgear WPN-824v3 mimo router as It doesn't support N at all. And I'm not about to go to 54G, As that's way too slow for My tastes, Besides It works for Me. :D

Ugh. When you jump on the proprietary protocol bus you end up stranded out in the middle of nowhere when the bus breaks down :p

Must have some internet connection. The bottle neck for me is my internet connection that's about 1.2 million bits/second. Everything else runs far faster but the speed is only useful if I am going from local computer to local computer.

I knew It was proprietary when I bought into It, As that's why I bought It as an N router was too expensive then and the price of the Netgear router was just right, So the pci-e x1(400Mbps) adapter cards can be upgraded for a fraction of the cost of a full on card to N at a later date, If I wanted to that is, As It will hand any wireless(or not I think) mini card that will fit in there and It can be used with the slightly faster USB 2.0(480Mbps) which all My PCs support, My oldest PC only has one pci-e slot and It's a 1.0a x16 slot, The other 3 slots in that PC are pci based(133Mbps).

Hi, when it's still warm outside, in the evening f.i., I'de like to be outside,
but do want to have/use an LT (more then sometimes) ;-).
It's about 300 feet, from MODEM/ROUTER (Antenna) and where I'de like to sit.

And I do notice, that the theoretical speed (54Mbit/sec;A,B&G-type), drops, very quickly to 5.4Mbit/sec, which is < 8Mbit/sec, the speed of my ISP, also theoretical, but my distance between ISP & me = 150 feet!. And as a (welcome) 'stunt', my speed is (more then)Doubled, to 20Mbit/sec, thus turning my wireless into a bottle-neck.

Super G does have an Extended range feature, But since distances here are at most 20', It's a moot point, But for bandwidth the price was ok, and that's good enough for Me. :D
