Well I just talked to Mwave and they can't push the order thru as Mwave uses a 5 digit zip code and will not change It to 9, So the order is canceled as I will not change My zip code to please them as then I can't buy stuff on ebay that uses the post office as mail delivery out here requires all 9 digits, So Now I get to order from Newegg, So in the future do not mention Mwave to Me ever again... As Yer wasting My time...

Zip + 4 has only been around since 1983, so maybe they need more time for their software to catch up. They should have at least compromised with you and been willing to accept a credit card with 4 digits missing. :-)

Kudos for firing the merchant. If everyone did that, they'd have fixed their "works-as-designed" software by now (notice I didn't say BUG as that might create a storm).

Thats funny as every order I have done from Mwave and Newegg they used UPS or FedEx so it was really a non issue that cost you more....But hey if you need that extra code on an order....

lets not forget that zip codes are for the POSTAL SERVICE not FedEx or UPS. UPS and FedEx use the numbers as a convenience but they deliver to addresses not ZIP codes

Bulk mailings do require it. Clearly not applicable to this.

I was finally able to order a new motherboard for my Dell 530s, I managed to break something while transplanting it from the original case to a new one.

Intel BOXDG43GT LGA 775 Intel G43 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Now I can get my other computer back up and running and move the Q8200 back into my bedroom.

Waiting on a new Debit card really slowed me down.

Skildude, Please bear in Mind, Mail is not delivered beyond the post office out here as there are only 2 employees. You live in a city of what population size and not in the high desert beyond Barstow, Call the Yermo Post Office[(760) 254-2315] between 9am-4pm as Yermo has a population of 1191 and a Land Area of: 98.3 square miles or 254.6 square kilometers, So there's no delivery beyond the Post Office, I've lived here since 2004 and everyone in Yermo uses a 9 digit zip code, As the extra 4 digits represent a FREE PO Box number... Otherwise since there is no street delivery out here, Good Luck getting any mail.

The Post Office is to the left side of the Market(look for the window on the left side of the picture).

Next to the beer? So a mail run could also be a beer run?

So what you are saying is everyone has the same physical address of the Market/Post Office and the only difference is the +4 to show them who the mail is for.

Allows UPS and FedEx to deliver to a address without the "We do not deliver to PO Box" BS most companies have.

No, everyone in Yermo has their own 9 digit zip code and a Key to their own box, They live else where, My street address where I live is not the post office address which is down on Yermo Rd(485 W Yermo Rd is where the Post office is in Yermo)... UPS, FedEx and sometimes DHL delivers to the street addresses out here where people live, Just not to a PO Box, We have Mail delivered to a PO Box only out here. Ok???

My PO Box is 262 ok? And so My zip code is 92398-0262(the zero is padding in the zip code).
http://yp.desertdispatch.com/us+post+office+yermo.9.62822629p.home.html

Your mail is delivered by a Postal Delivery Person on a route in a small truck, Ours is delivered to a PO Box and We drive our car or walk or get a ride from where We all live(the Street Address of where I live or My neighbor lives, Their all different) to get the mail at the Post Office, Only the zip code counts as that to the Post Office out here is the mailing address, Mine is 92398-0262, Someone else has 92398-0261, etc, etc. Ok?

You have a Street Address where You live right Arkayn? Well so do We, But to the Post Office out here, That isn't important, that's window dressing, The zip code is the mailing address here(Nothing else outside of ones name matters here), Not the Street Address where You get Your mail. You and skildude get Yer mail delivered to a mail box in front of Yer house, We don't, We go get the mail from the Post Office in Downtown Yermo at 485 W Yermo Rd, The zip code is the only important address out here for Mailing Purposes, As that's all the Post Office pays attention to, Do You think they could deliver without a zip code? If You do, Go ahead and try and mail It to Yourself, It could take a while as then It gets hand sorted and is not sortable by machine.

I lived up at the Grand Canyon for a 3 years, we only had PO Boxes, mine was PO Box 492, my zip was 86023-0492.

UPS, FedEx and DHL all delivered to our central warehouse and then we had to go pick up the package from there.

Luckily I have a actual mail service out here, it is a contractor but that is still better than having to go somewhere to get my mail.

All the services deliver to my home as well.

We do ship to PO boxes as I take the time to take all the boxes to the Post Office but it is a hassle when FedEx or UPS will pick up in a timely manner. To have to pay someone to fight traffic to wait in line and all that would add quite a bit to your shipping. That is why so many don't, it isn't because they are jerks....

BTW most if not all delivered goods offer you a "comment" section or attn line. you could use that line to add your full zip code.

I'm also very aware of odd mailing distributions. I knew a guy from Kentucky whose family name was their address. they were so far off the track that they had mail delivered by name because the people of the town didn't have any real streets.
