Apart from the classic 'Bullit' footage, there is one other that grabs me by the throttle.......

That would be Ronin...
Not into euro stuff much myself, but this is great...........they have come a long ways from the big block things of MY youth.

Gimme an eight pack and a four barrel, and I was ready to go........
Which meant.......a big v8 and the biggest four barrel card to be found........
I had several.........

The Ronin chase is excellent, but I prefer Bullit. Four-barrel, Mark? Holley, by chance? NACA ducts? Personally, I'd love to see a chase with a pair of Nissan Skyline GTRs (R33) in it.

Had nothing but trouble with the Holley double pumpers I tried....

Rocked the world with the stock Q Jet with a couple of toyings......had to play with the vacuum secondarys to get them to do what I wanted, but when they opened up to gargle, they were a gas......literally. Played with the secondary metering rods a lot.

Otherwise a Carter Thermoquad was not pretty, but opened up to say ahhhhhhh very nicely.

This one was a Mopar commercial...... Vanishing Point remake.......

I watched the original about 500 times.........used to be a staple of the 'go to the dirt track and drink beer then go to the drive-in Saturday night' thingy.

Back about 30 years ago and there still were drive-in's for teenys to drink beer in..........

THIS is the Vanishing Point of my era.........

"They wanna get him and put him away.......but they'll have to catch him first......"

What Dirty Harry did for Smith and Wesson, this flick did for Mopar.

Unless you count them hicks in Freakin' Hazzard County..............ya know, I must have been wiped when this one came out, but it's a ol' boyz' dream movie....LOL.
Gotta watch it on DVD now.

I was always a Buick man.......but those dudes with Mopar madness knew horsepower.......

I had a '66 something or other with a 390 or so.......was a snotty car, but I traded it for a microphone.......{Blues Brothers reference.....}.

T3
......my shitbox Olds could not do this on a good day.
Most shot at speed.....no BS here.

Although in my day I considered myself a rather dandy driver......

145 in a 35 was not bad......but the cops got me.......
Horsepower has it's problems.
The say you can't outrun radio.

Upon reflection, I should have had 4:25 gears instead of the 4:11's......that might have done the trick. Top would have suffered, but I had the HP and the revs.

I did it once. With the GS400.......God, I luv cubic inches......

The new euros get more outta less, but it was not like that in my day.

You needed displacement......and carbs..........

Put in the right metering rods and tweak the spring tension on the butterfly valves over the secondaries, and you can go fast......they used to call them 'Coke bottle' secondaries, because they were just soooooooo big..
I think somebody once did a test and the stock Q jet could handle over 700cfm when set up right........

So all those 'Holley 650 double pumpers' were just smoke in the wind.......
And usually in my tailpipe.

And I must stand down.........

My 'Lark was fast, but not as fast as his.......

10 second Buick.........
I might have done 10.5, but that would be on a good day.

Tom had the 455 by the nuts.
And dialed in everything all at once.

Best one I have ever seen. Bar none.
