I used Rivatuner as well and that didn't work with my 295 cards, The values that were set in where not properly accepted by the driver/card. So I use the nVidia plugin performance monitor from nVidia, that's simple and works as it should. TThrottle Control your temperatures. BoincTasks The best way to view BOINC. Fred W, Thanks! ![]() Jon, GPU#2 & ..#3 are still + 10 MHz shader. 'resultid=1476281148' Reported: 11 Jan 2010 14:53:07 UTC But this is morning for you I guess.. ![]() I live current UTC + 01:00 (MET). Fred, URL please! ![]() I installed only the nVIDIA_driver. From the system tray icon/menu I can't see an option for to control fan speed. Is there a possibility for to see also the chip temp (maybe also RAM/voltage transformer temps) of the graphic card (orig. nVIDIA softw.)? EDIT: I disabled with help of msconfig the start of the nVIDIA system tray icon simultaneously with the Windows start. So it's not shown. Is there a possibility for to start this prog (fan control/temps) out of the program menu/or nVIDIA folder? ____________ [Optimized project applications, for to increase your PC performance (double RAC)!][Overview of abbreviations, which are used often in forum and their meaning.] ![]() |

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_system_tools_6.05.html Hidden in plain sight on the driver download page. 3 programs, choose at the installation the first one ntune. The others are useless, except maybe the update manager. The program works as a plug-in of the normal nVidia setup. After startup you have to seek for the license conformation, otherwise you miss some settings. Rather strange place for the conformation. Depending on your driver you should be able to set speeds, fan and voltage. TThrottle Control your temperatures. BoincTasks The best way to view BOINC. Anza Borrego Desert hiking. |

Hey, guys. I find EVGA Precision much easier to use than the NVidia tools or RivaTuner. Set fan speed, check temps etc. Seems to work equally well with any make of card. F. ![]() |

Hey guys, I think I found it. Fans at 100% using Rivatuner, underclocking using nVidia control panel. Watching closely, 2 cuda wu's are good. Then screen goes black, comes back ("driver stopped responding and recovered") and then 4 cuda computation error! i'll reinstall or update drivers now. |

Hmm, you got a Win 7 driver that I know and nVidia knows has some CUDA issues. I stopped trying with that driver give me XP for now. TThrottle Control your temperatures. Jon use the 19107 drivers there is a problem with thr latest driver. You found a driver that did work? Because I tried them all. There are getting a bit better and sometimes even stable for a couple of hours. But still not good enough for the real thing. And somewhat slower. TThrottle Control your temperatures. Hmm, you got a Win 7 driver that I know and nVidia knows has some CUDA issues. You tested nVIDIA_driver_195.81_BETA ? Maybe this version is better (probs solved) for Win7 than the earlier 195.62_final? ____________ [Optimized project applications, for to increase your PC performance (double RAC)!][Overview of abbreviations, which are used often in forum and their meaning.] ![]() |

Hmm, you got a Win 7 driver that I know and nVidia knows has some CUDA issues. The release data shows no changes in the CUDA part of the driver. Only some minor fixes: This driver is identical to the 195.62 WHQL drivers except for the following: etc. TThrottle Control your temperatures. BoincTasks The best way to view BOINC. Jon, you have maybe the possibility to install WinXP ? AFAIK, it's the fastest crunching OS (compared to WinVista & Win7). And it's well tested over years.. ____________ [Optimized project applications, for to increase your PC performance (double RAC)!][Overview of abbreviations, which are used often in forum and their meaning.] ![]() |

Agreed, XP 64, for now is the best choice, it's really stable. I expect Win7 to catch up eventually, but I don't think the main focus is on us CUDA users. |

You have 191.x installed. I have 190.x installed, my test (190.x , 191.x , 195.x) showed fastest for CUDA (WinXP 32bit). Maybe the EVGA tool need the lastest nVIDIA_driver for well function? Normally the orig. nVIDIA tool should run well with all drivers, or is a min. driver needed? ____________ [Optimized project applications, for to increase your PC performance (double RAC)!][Overview of abbreviations, which are used often in forum and their meaning.] ![]() |

I had 191.07 in there but not working. I installed 195.81 beta...not working. I'll try 195.62 now. 195.62 not working. |

Maybe the EVGA tool need the lastest nVIDIA_driver for well function? Nah, EVGA's Precision v1.8.1 tool works fine with older Nvidia drivers. I'm using 190.62 (XP x86). But I only have two GPU's installed. Maybe >2 GPU's is a problem? Martin edited... |

Jon make sure you go to Device Manager and Uninstall the Display adapters, you get the option to uninstall the drivers as well. This gives the best option for a cleaner registry. I guess that this is telling my Grandmother how to suck eggs but thought others might find it usefull. Dave ![]() |

I had 191.07 in there but not working. Ohh well.. You had nVIDIA_driver_191.x and with all stock (orig. SETI@home) all worked fine? I wouldn't think that .._190.x will work, but maybe you would like to test? Maybe you have at home an old CD of WinXP for to install? I don't think I'll now say a secret, everybody know it.. I heard, you can install WinXP on more PCs simultaneously, the Inet unlock work fine. Other said it, I didn't made it. I installed WinXP on a PC. Some years later I installed the same OS on an other system and it worked fine. The old PC was no longer active, maybe because of this it worked? You can't do this with WinVista. It's connected to the installed system. ____________ [Optimized project applications, for to increase your PC performance (double RAC)!][Overview of abbreviations, which are used often in forum and their meaning.] ![]() |

I have 2 GTX295's in my i7 rig but because it is Vista 64bit only 3 GPU's. I also have 2 GTX275's in my AMD rig also Vista. Being Game for a Laugh I have bought an AMD Phenom IIx4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz processor,to go on a cheap m/board with 4 PCI-Express slots. Plus 4Gb of Geil DDR3 2133 memory. When all the parts arrive hopefully later this week I am going to lash it together on the bench with the 4 nVidia cards to see how they perform. XP of course. Any ideas wellcome. Sorry if I shoud have stared a new thread but this one is about 2 GTX295's. Dave ![]() |
