Just a reminder that other than the ati/CPU hybrid app there isn't any word of a standard Multibeam app ready or in the works for the ATI cards.

the CUDA app was created by the folks at Nvidia, not Seti. If ATI would bring their guys around to creating an app it would be great. Hopefully eventually we'll get something for ATI.

I also want the ati GPUs to be crunching SETI. My Radeon HD5770 is very hungry for some work units. I hope they have the necessary software ready soon.

in the mean time you can always pop over to MIlkyway or Collatz and knock out some big numbers there. The newer ATI cards really rock on both collatz and MW. My ATI 4770 was getting about 55k credits a day on Collatz and 80k/day on MW.

You might get your wish pretty soon. Some third-party programmers have been helping write and test a hybrid application for SETI@Home AstroPulse type workunits that will utilize both the CPU and GPU together for processing. Hopefully it won't be longer than a couple months, but it could be sooner!

I find this bloody annoying as well. I have some monster ATi cards sitting here twiddling their thumbs, I WANT to set my GPUs to handle most the work to power through the tasks. Both sides need to work on this properly. Us ATi guys have been sitting patiently for 1-2yrs for the ability to turn our GPUs into serious crunchers. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PPLS! If needed, all ATi guys should hassle the hell out of AMD/ATi about seti GPU crunching compatibility.

There is no stock application for the ATI yet. There is a hybrid application, which uses part GPU and part CPU being tested on Astropulse tasks, but since these latter are far and few between, it may not be worth it to change your machine to go do all of those.
