You are welcome.. ;-)

I saw now on my PCs a lot of, also others reported their 'validate error's.
You will let run the 'validate error do again well script' (again, like in past).. for to protect the science/results (and Credits) for 'deletion'?

Matt, for example here..

My wingman reported 29 Dec 2009 0:02:10 UTC his result and gave my ULed and reported result of 2 Dec 2009 1:25:03 UTC also a 'validate error'.

I don't know how far back it will have impacts.

The replica database is 3805 sec (1hr 5min) behind, your credit will show
when it catches up.

No, they are not fixed. The results reported after your post are ok, but not those before.

No, they are not fixed. The results reported after your post are ok, but not those before.

And that includes tasks which were reported months ago, but had validation triggered by a quorum partner after you came back online - e.g. WU 519705357.

And an even stranger one here. I'm pretty sure this was not marked as a Validate Error before the outage but the reporting dates were 23 and 25 November.

Good Morning All,

Not as computer saavy in this area as most of you. What I do know is that I have had no "tasks" assigned since late Sunday. As I am an old "Classic" person, it just seems that the old system, while not without fault, worked a little better. I could be wrong.

To the issue at hand -- Can anyone predict how long this dearth of work will continue?

Yes, I know it is "Tuesday" and what that entails is also rather discomforting.

Anyway - A Joyful and Prosperus New Year to the entire SETI Family

The old system didn't work without electricity either. Are you aware that Seti had a scheduled 24 hour+ power outage between Sunday and Monday and that a new one is planned for January 3-4?

From the News on the front page:
Scheduled Power Outage - update
We are now recovering from a planned power outage, during which all services were off line. The workunit storage machine is undergoing a RAID resync and no new workunits will be generated until this has finished. The outage was for power upgrades on campus, and a similar outage will happen again this upcoming Sunday (01/03/2010) at 12 noon (Pacific time).

Hi!
Some 630 WUs are invalid for me.
Small hope: after they go out again (400 000 ready to be send),
validator might validate them.

It might be usefull to re-run validator and send out only new WUs.

Good Morning All,

Yes, there are many things that will not operate w/o electricity.

Yes, I was aware of the planned outage.

Perhaps, I should not have waxed nostalgic (spelling?)about the good ole'
days of "Classic SETI."

That being said, the question remains: Does anyone have any idea how long it will be before "tasks" are sent out again?

ps - Again, A Joyous and Prosperus New Year to all of the SETI Family. (smile)

My queue isn't empty yet, so I don't mind for the crew cleaning up database issues first.
I can only hope for re-validating to go smootly because a lot of work is going to be redistributed for nothing!

...according to the "Server Status" page, the splitters are back online, and there's about 414k WU's ready to go, but I get "no work available" when I request work from BOINC manager...

The science status page has been broken since mid-November - it's still reading "This page generated: 13 Nov 2009 19:30:14 UTC"
.

I guess it's like this wu.. it's one of those "error wu's". They are not being re-distributed as of yet.. And asuming a lot of people have had these errors and they are getting to the 'redistribution queue' that would account for that amount of wu's ready for sending.. but they are not being sent (as you can see via the link earlier).. this leaves me to hope this is intentional and this can be fixed (so that I/we will get the credit and the wu's won't be resent...)..

We'll see (and hope ;)

Hopefully New work will be available in mass quantities before then, As I'm almost out(3.5hrs or so) and yes I increased My cache. :D Happy New Year all!

Also, the scheduling server has been disabled, so even though there is work in the queue, I don't think it is being sent out.

Hopefully, next weeks power outage recovery will go much smoother now that they have found out what to expect. I hope they have figured out what to do about all those validate errors that went out before they caught it. People over in number crunching are worried about losing all those credits.

One good thing about all this, I've had about 3000 pending credits move over to the completed column! :-)

Thanks to the SETI crew for all the work you guys are putting in getting this mess sorted.
