We started sending out our annual year-end donation drive mass e-mail. The process could take days. If you didn't get one (possibly due to spam blocking), you can read the same letter on-line here. Thank you!!! |

How about an automated e-mail to individuals right before their green-donation-star expires? I think/recall that green-donation-stars expire after 1 year. So a friendly reminder might generate more repeat donations. My last donation was for: $ 358.009994506836 and is about to expire. What STRANGE donation amount can you get the system to create/accept??? SETI@home since 1999 "Set it, and Forget it!" |

Yes, Now I can find a place to gripe. Give it a rest people, and Seti extras. I am inundated constantly for money which I do not have now or later. I can easily delete the jobs that I have running now that are eating up my cpu cycles. I am only responding in kind to to your appeals. Please don't give me heartburn. |

You can turn off the option to receive emails from S@H in the SETI@home preferences section of your Account... Take care. |

That's an addition that we've been planning, but haven't yet implemented. We also plan a message about 18 months after last donation as a reminder. @SETIEric@qoto.org (Mastodon) |

After 10 years with seti, I have NOT been able to connect for over a year! I tried everything and cannot get help either. This is the news forum. If you try Number Crunching, or one of the help forums for your Operating System then people will be able to help you there. BTW- puting your email address in plain form & phone number on a publicly available web site generally isn't a good idea. Grant Darwin NT |

Looks a very good idea to me ... It's giving the members the information they need/wanted. |

Is it too late? Hello, Welcome at SETI@home and in the forum! No, it's never too late. You could donate when ever you would like. Great to see all the donation information from donors and potentials. I'd like to see an accounting of where the money si going? Like how much hardware is purchased / planned. What is the rent rate. What salary if any is being paid. Time to give us an idea of what the freight rate is and where the money is going. I'm getting more an more dissapointed in things like no real time link between the Ground Station and Berkley. With all of NASA's links and TDRSS why can't the GS ship up data real time? Radar systems interfering with reception. I worked on SAT systems in the 70's where we solved those issues with blankers and PRF / PRT syncs. Like what kind of engineering is going on? Is SETI really using ancient technology and processing? Why? Ok let the stone throwing begin... Never engage stupid people at their level, they then have the home court advantage..... |

I though that NASA was pretty much forbidden by the government from much involvement in any SETI program.
How many light years did your signals travel before they ran into radar signals on earth? |

@Bill, There has been a presidential election cycle in the mean time and the christian fundamentalist -- the bible is the literal word of god person -- is not in power any more. Nor does his political party control the House of Representatives -- the purse strings of the USA -- any more. @edjcox, As to this data moving, who gives a squat how fast it gets between Puerto Rico and California? When the dish collects we can't crunch as fast as it collects so it backs up. If it is going to back up sending it slow boat gets it crunched just as fast as real time and it costs less. Of course it didn't help that the dish was offline for about a year for a major R&R project. |

I complied with the request found in a CPDN message board basing upon my trust in Dr.Anderson, then I read the comments and immediately changed my password in the BOINC project I had indicated was my main project. I would welcome a comment by Dr.Anderson. Tullio |
