I did this awhile back at PrimeGrid and we were able to raise over $500. With a much larger project like SETI, we ought to be able to do much better.

So here’s the deal: I pulled all the change out of the sofa, took all the empties back and generally took a look around and I came up with a spare $50.

On December 26th I am either going to donate it to Seti@home, or I am going to go shoe shopping. You get to decide what I do with my little windfall.

If there is at least $1000 of new donations to SETI made and reported to this thread between now and the 26th, then SETI gets the money. Otherwise, girl gets new shoes. (Can never have too many pairs of shoes.)

or ???

Eric already donated for both of us in the most recent donation drive, however I just kicked in $100.00 more to keep those 3 inch spiky "throw-me-down-and-you-know-what-me" shoes off of my friend's feet!!!

Ok Kenzie, I am in. I have a gallon milk jug over half full of pennies, which I was going to put in my IRA. Instead, I will pledge it to Seti and just up my 401K as I get a better rate of return. My boys will add the recycling money and if that doesn't add up to $50, I will make up the difference with my last paycheck of the year. (12/31/2009)

And a big to all who have already donated. We will beat the 2008 December drive.

Thanks to everyone for your support of Seti.

Does Kenzie really need another pair of shoes?

I always needs new shoes.

My name is Kenzie and I am a shoe-a-holic. . .

EDIT

And I don't mean that people have to match my $50. Just so the total of the thread is (at least) $1000 by December 26.

Smaller donations are good, too. It is the small bits that make up the whole that is important. :)

What do you think? Even for me, they may be a little over the top.

So far, thanks to Angela, Eric and Uli, we have $150 pledged.

Hmmm, going slow. There is hope yet that I’ll be getting shiny new shoes!

What do you think of these:

?

A little over my $50 budget (by about 10 times) and I wouldn’t have many opportunities to wear them, wow, they sure are pretty.

So, do I buy new shoes on Dec 26th, or do I donate $50 to SETI? That is up to you. If at least $1000 in new donations to SETI are posted here before the 26th, I donate. If not, hehehe, I go shoe shopping!

Very nice. Have to do something about that.

I was going to send in $50 anyway soon. I will add another $50 for your challenge. Once this month's money arrives.

Kenzie, what is with all the H**ker Heels?!!!???!!!!

Be a sensible person and consider some nice supportive Orthopedic Oxfords. You should be shopping for footwear that gets a stamp of approval from the Canadian Podiatry Society. Show us some some nice "nun shoes" or "school-marm shoes" or "Marian the Librarian" shoes!

(Actually, people might donate money just to make sure you stay OUT of nun shoes...)

They’re not really h**ker heels. More like heels. ;o)

Sensible shoes like these:

I already have plenty of.

@ Michael Roberts: Thank you! Total is now up to $250.

Buy those shoes! They sure are hot :-)

I just donated so I'm in for $0. I would really like to see Kenzie in these shoes.

I pledge $50 to go into a new fund for Kenzie to buy the shoes. I think I was dreaming about them last night - Hell, I'd wear them if they made them in my size, women's size 12.

Hey guys, can you imagine these shoes on Kenzie with a Catwoman suit - MEOW Kitty Kat :-)
