My AVG anti-virus had reported some attacks from a given IP adress. I was not sure if that has anything to do with that, but I have some suspicious. Can anyone detach your client by invading your host? Not a nice thing to do, but I have reasons to think that may happen.... more suspicious now that you guys don´t have a good idea about what its really happen. Yeah, but I will notice that in seconds and it will show who is the attacker, as I keep an eye on my machines like 24/7 :) Going first RAC on your team/country may be enough to one to do that.... if that position is more important to you than the science. Go figure. If all my hardware where up and running flawless, my RAC will be over 100k. It happens again, but on the new i7/GTX 295 I own. Im upgrading my BOINC (though no point on doing that untill needed - maybe that´s the need now). Ty for your advices. Keeping all these rigs at 100% involves a nice amount of work... cheers. |

If they have the password in gui_rpc_auth.cfg & are listed in your remote_hosts.cfg file, or if they have spoofed one of the hosts & read the password in gui_rpc_auth.cfg. Then they could be able to attach to your machine and change your settings. Also if they are outside of your local network you would need to have port 31416 open. So yes it could happen, but if someone was going to go though all that effort they would probably setup your machine to run tasks for them. I had some tasks come up as detached when I looked at my errors recently. There were 4 listed on host 5212366. At the moment wu id539683996 is the only one left. I'm not worried about it so much, but I can't figure out what occurred on the machine to have that happen. It was at 9am while I was at work & the machine didn't restart or have any other errors in the event log. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours |

Your Host is showing Boinc 6.6.20 (a bit old)... There were some issues where Boinc did detach. It has been corrected. I also noted that You Optimized Application might not be the latest build 76... as there have been a few improvements since then. Regards Please consider a Donation to the Seti Project. |

[hostid=4530722] Made the URL clickable. Normally BOINC can't detach/attach to a project automatically. Don't know what happened. I guess - maybe a Berkeley server prob? IIRC, an old server software could delete unneeded WUs on the PC.

Im having this problem with this machine, and its just killing all my efforts on it. My host 4530722 If I look at the error table, it seems client detached to all my units, so no point on keep processing them. It happens 2 more times this month, dropping the rac if this machine from 37k to 17k. Can anyone help me? Not a clue on what is happen. |
