Message 957550 - Posted: 20 Dec 2009, 15:33:37 UTC - in response to Message 957511.

My Mom liked to bake/cook stuff, Almost anything really. So what're You baking tonight Angela?

My guess is Christmas cookies!!!

Yes, cookies. I am up to my eyeballs in cookies! Just pulled the last batch out of the oven. Every December I have my gigantic family over for a cookie party and tomorrow is the day. (Oh wait... it is after midnight here, so today is the day!)

The older I get, the harder this is to pull off. I make double and triple batches of every variety so that after the party I send all my relatives home with lots and lots of cookies. I used to be able to do everything in two days and not have to rely on my freezer. Now it takes me about five days, if you count grocery shopping and making in advance a couple of cookie varieties that freeze well.

I have 9 varieties this year - lemon wreaths, spritz, eggnog cheesecake bars, caramel pecan bars, orange-molasses rounds, walnut-rum lace wafers, white chocolate drops, orange macaroons, and Finnish chestnut fingers.

I am really tired. Aging bites! I want to be 25 again...

The cookies sound yummy Angela.

Being 25 again? So say We all!
