Its - Really Freaking Cold with the Wind Chill here in Wasaga Beach! I just finished plowing 15 cm of snow off the parking lot with a tractor and loader that has turf tires. That took 4 hours with the ice underneath it. Snow squalls still pounding us and I cant see my truck thats 40 feet from my office window. Going Home to have a couple shots of whiskey to warm up so I can come back in tomorrow and do it all again! Cheers everyone! Rick ************************** |

I hate this kind of weather. Cold is ok. Wet is ok. Cold & Wet together is miserable! |

Going Home to have a couple shots of whiskey to warm up so I can come back in tomorrow and do it all again! LOL. I've thought that some days! Its really not that bad. When I consider the alternatives I prefer this part of North America. The west coast has earthquakes and massive forest fires, the south and east coast get the hurricanes and the central plains get the tornadoes. All we get is these white flakes falling from the sky! Depending on which source you go by our average annual snowfall is between 200 and 300 cm/yr. It keeps the ski resorts and the snow removal companies busy. Although the times are changing. This past summer an F2 tornado hit just down the road from my house, one of 20+ confirmed tornadoes in a single day record for Ontario. The only picture I could find shows the tornado at the top of the escarpment after it decimated several acres af apple orchards and before it decended the ski hill and wiped out several chalets and resort buildings.
