Am I dyslexic or do an abnormal proportion of Seti crunchers have cats?

No idea Mamluk, But Angel likes Me and She thinks I'm a Big Cat, What can I say? I like Cats and I always have.

I stand by my previous comment. One does not have to be a doctor to know something or have a "right" to talk. Just because I am not a doctor, does not mean I have no right to talk about dyslexia. I don't have diabetes, but my mother died from it and I know a heck of a lot about it. This does not preclude my ability to talk about it.

I was talking with a friend about upgrading their CPU fan heat sink. Don't presume that everyone is just sitting at their keyboard just dying to respond to you.

Great, now I gotta buy a cat too for CUDA!?!?!

I think that was a system requirement with the 190 series drivers.....

ROFLMAO, friend.

But you're not a doctor either, so what gives you the authority to test me on my knowledge? By your logic, only doctors can talk about stuff, therefore you're not allowed to talk about it either.

Glen

This machine has an 8400GT that is the Poster Child for Cuda. It has did more Lunatics Alpha testing to help understand some of the problems associated with Seti and Cuda on less capable cards (it has produced a lot of results). It Runs Warm, I clean things about once a month. I do know for a Fact, When a VLARS Hits it is going to be very slow to respond. That is where the Preferences come in that Jord has spent so much time writing and talking about. If you take time to go look you will see that it is running the Non VLAR Kill... I spent a lot of hours "OFFLine" testing this (and other Cuda Apps) in the Lunatics Alpha Area.

I also understand that improvements of drivers from Nvidia has improved the fan control on cards that are basically brain dead. That particular thing goes to the company that produced the card with the Nvidia Chip. It is Not Seti... Actually it not NVIDIA... That company decided, they would cheat the system and Not program Fan Contol. Its only money and Users have LOTS of it!

So as it seems that you whole goal is not to convince anyone with Proof. It has been pointed out that with the default settings from Seti, YOU had to turn CUDA ON... Why are you complaining, YOU did it to Yourself! So many of the people here have helped so many others correct problems with only a question. They have worked through so many questions and answers that when a WIN Happens Everyone sits and Applauds.

The Users that Answer and Try to Help have spent many hours working through many things. When they start they will spend weeks trying to find the solution. Why alienate them?

So this is not about the country where you sit, it is not about abilities or disablities. It is about getting the most out of the computer(s) that you own or protecting them.

Seti was not designed to harm a computer. So many users have it running in the background and it never does anything but produce a Returned Result... It will stress it a bit, but the computer does not mind.

I don't need to be a doctor i have the condition so ofcuse i know what the answer is but you don't. My mother has diabeties too and yet i make no comment on it as i do not suffer from it and am not a Doctor of medicine. I would never question someone that has a illness i'm not that stupid and am not a doctor so what is your excuse again for speaking about something you have no idea about ???

So because I don't have dyslexia, and because I'm not a doctor, I can't possibly talk about it?

I don't live by your standards, I don't agree with your standards, and I don't care about your standards. You have no authority over me and my freedom to talk about whatever I wish to talk about.

Now, are we going to return to the original topic of discussion or are you going to keep crying because I offended you?

Thank You, for Proving that you have no basis in fact.

Regards

Edit:
Others have offered to talk with you about the problem. You refuse...

At this point the thread is name calling.

Have a good Night
