OK folks.......have a go with this one.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Redneck?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife
and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife
comes around the corner, locks eyes with you,
screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the
knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP (me, a Springfield XD40), and you are an expert shot.

You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

..............................................................

THINK CAREFULLY AND
THEN SCROLL DOWN:

Democrat's
Answer :

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire
him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock
the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind
of message does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be
content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my
family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and
make this happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with
some friends for few days and try to come to a
consensus.

It is getting really old...........I know what I am saying........

The Dixie Chicks knew what they were talking about.......
JFK was not killed by a 'lone gunman'
God is not dead.
The greatest engine ever built by Detroit was the Buick 455.....OK, maybe the 440 Magnum.
The best movie ever was Unforgiven.
The best actor......Clint.
The best project.....Seti.
Obama is an ass. And the sooner you all realize it, the better off this country will be.

AND..........you can all just f off is you don't agree with me.

I am down with that.

And I am done with this.

Let's see. I vote Democratic, but served 3 years in the Army and qualified Expert on the M16A1, M1911A1, and M203 grenade launcher.

I the situation you described, I would not hesitate to use all three.

I guess that makes me an Independent. :)

I'm so gratefull to live in Canada where discussions like this don't occur.

I'm also gratefull to not live next door to a man suffering through the worst extremes of emotional rollercoasters in a country that allows him to possess weapons.

The question asked here shouldn't be about whether anyone is a Democrat, republican or redneck.
Rather ask yourself if a country ruled by the military industrial complex that permits the weapons industry control over an entire society, from the Executive branch down to the drunken kook living in a box, is indeed a safe place to live.

I've posted this link before but it seems relevent here again.

Hi Robert, that may be true but we have our own disease here:

It's unbelielable that in this so-called multi-cultural country we can be legally charged for writing business signs in larger font English or speaking too much English! At least the Americans have a melting-pot that basically forces their peoples to coexist together without these petty squabbels. You live in BC so you are isolated from the seperatist agenda.

I never realized that weapon ownership was a requirement for membership in the REpbulican party.

I come from a long line of drunk angry men/women. One thing that has been passed along with that is this saying. Never give a drunk angry man a gun EVER!!! Sure it does sound macho to talk about shooting your enemies between the eyes. What's not so Macho is the threat that occur when the drunk brandishes that weapon around his frightened kids. Luckily, I've never witnessed this and neither have my kids.

There are those that shout at the top of the trees that they are "packing". These are the ones that will never pull the trigger even if they needed to. The people that for protection can and do do it quietly, with the grim understanding that they are taking a life. Someones family member. regardless of their religious beliefs they are a human being. I would ask a republican to turn the other cheek and love thy neighbor but I think the Party of socall Christians are that in name only.

Hi Nick, it seems our problems in Canada may be somewhat less violent than the problems of another nation.
I might question your proposition that the American melting pot can force people to coexist without petty squabbles while we're posting in a thread that asks if you'd shoot someone in the street.

Seems to me that the melting pot doesn't eliminate stupidity, racism or this holy war mentality.

We are a nation of doers. We don't sit around and wait for someone else to take care of something for us. This is why were were the first to throw off the chains that England had on us. In the last election, I agree we may of been stupid but not racist. As for holy war, we didn't shoot first. You are talking about something that caused more deaths that Pearl Harbor. In any other military, you give an order and it is obeyed. In the US military, you need to explain why. On the other hand, America is the first country to offer a hand to someone in need.
I can prove I have fired over 100,000 shells and I have never killed anything, however if it came down to defending someone from a crime, I would do it.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than any enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...

My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...

My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weakness, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...

Before God I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but Peace.

Where does one begin when confonted with such jingoism?
There is nothing special about the people in the US. Everyone in the world does whatever they have to do to survive and provide for their own.

As for casting off the chains, yours was not the first nation on Earth to declare it's indepedence. The question is, when will America allow that same independence for others?

You might also want to look back at US involvements in the Middle East before claiming you didn't fire the first shot. The people in that region have had a belly-full of American interference in their affairs for generations.
I suppose they too would like to enjoy a little of that independence you are so proud of.

As to America lending a hand in times of need, the whole world does this but you are the only nation that takes all the credit by blowing your own horns loudly.
Hell, you aren't even near the top of the list when it comes to per capita dollars spent in aid.

There is nothing special about the people in the US. Everyone in the world does whatever they have to do to survive and provide for their own.

I am sure most people would, but you consider what we would do to be barbaric. If it comes down to it I suspect you would be just as barbaric as we are. We are just willing to admit that we know what we would do. You think you are above it.

As for casting off the chains, yours was not the first nation on Earth to declare it's indepedence. The question is, when will America allow that same independence for others?

People have been braking away from other countries for thousands of years, but we were the first to break away from England. That was all I said.

You might also want to look back at US involvements in the Middle East before claiming you didn't fire the first shot. The people in that region have had a belly-full of American interference in their affairs for generations.
I suppose they too would like to enjoy a little of that independence you are so proud of.

How quickly the world forgets. In around the last century their was Cuba, Panama, World War one and two, Korea, the Philippines, Israel, we tried in Vietnam, Kuwait, we blocked Russia in the cold war, Iraq a work in progress and I am sure I have forgot a few. We don't have the resources to do everything but I am sure we have done more than our share. How many has Canada taken the lead(not just followed) on?
You may have also forgot that it was the English who created the original country divisions in the middle east that cause so much trouble. The truth is that our main involvement in the middle east was keeping Russia from controlling all of it. The sad part is we had to deal with some people who were not the best people to deal with. On the other hand, if we had removed them from power and replaced them we would be receiving the same criticism but for a different reason.

As to America lending a hand in times of need, the whole world does this but you are the only nation that takes all the credit by blowing your own horns loudly.
Hell, you aren't even near the top of the list when it comes to per capita dollars spent in aid.

You should take a look at your numbers. When you total what is delivered (not just promised) by private and government sources, we are the heavy lifters in that area. We don't mind if if we don't get recognition, but calling us cheap is going a bit to far.

Because it hasn't been warming in the last 10 years. We are not going to be conned (I hope). We also have been leading the world in producing technology to make more efficient use of energy and we are using the same amount of energy we did 40 years ago despite the increase in population. By the way, Europe uses the same amount of energy and has the same usage curve. The rest of the world is another story. Their usage was about the same as ours 40 years ago but has doubled and is on the way to tripling. Just because every body hates us is no reason for us to commit economic suicide. Now I am in favor of using more Atomic power, but Obama, the Darling of the world has ended that dream. He has shut down our waste storage area making it dumb to build any new reactors.
We have been leading by example but no one has noticed.
