I don’t buy it. While it could be possible, there are too many factors against it and too many factors in favor of terrestrial sources. I tend to side with Occums razor. “entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem” (Latin, roughly translated as "entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity"), and stands for the principle that "when you have two competing theories that have the same solution, the simpler one is the better."

influenza viruses are very fragile and dont last more than a couple minutes outside the body. When you see news casts of people disinfecting buildings its a show. Theres no real benefit. Influenza transfers from person to person through microscopic particles(spittle)that are inhaled and attach to the new victims mucousa.

School closings because of the flu. How dumb is this? so the kids go home or stay home then go hang out with their sick friends who proceed to infect them.

The key word above is "detected". Not "appeared". Did people start looking at about the same time?


If I remember my university biology from oh, so many years ago, viruses are particularly attuned to living as parasites in their hosts, the result of eons of parallel evolution. If you believe in all that evolution stuff. So two questions come up:

1. How does a virus ready to live inside an earth creature evolve off the earth?

2. How does said virus survive in space without an earth creature host long enough to get here from someplace else?


I read the link to the panspermia site, which proves the nutbars are taking this seriously. Does anybody have a link to real scientists taking it seriously?

I had read that the Influenza of i918 - 1919 was probably traced back to the trenches in France. The first cases had all come from there on troop ships.

I had read that the Influenza of i918 - 1919 was probably traced back to the trenches in France. The first cases had all come from there on troop ships.

The 1918 flu may date back to 1915 but for some reason it didn't cause much damage till 1918. This is one of the reasons why they are so worried about the current flu. However the way this one is getting around, everyone should be somewhat resistant to this one before it mutates. This is a link to more information about it's history.
