Standing Outage Notice: Every Tuesday morning (Pacific Time) we have a regular 3-4 hour outage for database backup ...

I'm still new, but it seems that 3-4 is closer to 6-10 (counting everything).

Anyone know if the Tuesday stuff is all automated, or are there panicy feet running around throwing levers and flipping tapes?

Mostly just curious, not suggesting any progress indicators as I know that's ultimately meaningless complexity.

It just makes Tuesdays a good day to do your own backups too. :-)

They write about it in the other message sections. Un-automated and very hands-on, but doesn't seem panicky. The only people that ever seem to panic are us...

you should ask on the technical news thread. Matt just posted an update there. I'm sure you could easily get the answeres from him instead of us guessing at what happens
