ö, ä, ü (umlaut) broken

I looked to old posts. There are the.. ü -> ü ö -> ö ä -> I didn't found.. ;-) ..broken, not shown. There are strange signs shown. This will come back soon? It's since weeks like this. Thanks! :-) |

No news. All the same. All old posts with 'ö/ä/ü' with strange signs. Why this happen? AFAIK, this isn't the first time. In past this happened also. It's a DB mistake? |

I'm not sure, but Matt mentioned in technical news problems with DB dumps and scripts to avoid those. I think those strange characters (as well as many escaped single quotes (\')) result from running tose scripts. By the way, not only German umlaute are affected, but generally UTF-8 characters that are not from the US-ASCII set.
