Great girl. I heard her in 1968 in Milano, I still remember the thundershower which ended her concert.

It only sounds right, if Dylan sings it.....I think it was from the album (big black CD thing) called Planet Waves. Yes, I do have the album, but its 200 miles away!

Yes it is on Planet Waves. I still have my big black CD thing copy too, bought in California right after it came out.

Only the best.....
Baez singing Dylan....

Forever Young

Enjoy, my friends.

There are probably some other covers that would not do justice to the song, but I always loved Joan's beautiful voice. Almost anything she does is grand by me....
Another example....and appropriately enough, another Dylan tune (not surprising, you do know they were lovers back then).

Brazil, with the one and only Ethyl Smith on the mighty Hammond B3. I'm definitely dancing now!

A link?

Why are you folks not linking to 'what you are listening to'?
Unless you are like me and have an extensive collection of those 'big black thingys that spin around like tops....'

Meow.
The B3 was a mighty organ........

One of my first memories of a live band centered around a black haired chicky whacking a B something or other......
She smiled at me, and I melted. And then I heard and watched the horn in the organ start whizzing around......the phase shifting that came out of it was implanted in my brain forever.

The live version of Old Fashioned Love Song made liberal use of the Hammond........
Not sure it survives the transcription from reality to Youtube. But if you were there....

No link, because

1. It was a commercial Internet radio site, and I didn't want to upset the moderators, and

2. It was a commerical Internet radio site, and would probably be playing something else by the time you got there.

I thinned out my big black thingy collection quite a few years ago, and I'm down to my last 300 or so now. Still spin the platters once in awhile, but it seems like so much work.

Excuse for the non-linky thingy accepted.
I personally just kinda browse Youtube.......and liberally link to such.

My black platter spinner has been idle for some years.......since I wiped the little armature thingy offa my $1000.00 Ortofon that I bought when I worked at the sound shop and had the jing.

A rebuild on a MC2000 moving coil is kinda pricey these days.........

Dylan when he and I were both much younger.......
When I Was Young..

He was sooooooooo much ahead of his time back then.
He just had the balls and good grace of God to be able to put down in words and music what the rest of us wanted to say.

Love has no reason nor want.
It can set you free or imprison you for life.
I lost my one true love when I was only 17 yo...........
Why does life have to be like this?
