D'altra parte nuoto, ginnastica, canottaggio e triathlon.
E il golf :(
Tobias Ludvigsson (Svezia) è arrivato almeno come numero 45 dopo Matteo Trentin ...

I have a HP ENVY 4500 printer which is connected by Wifi to a Windows 10 PC and by cable to my main Linux box which has no Wifi capabilities being of 2008 vintage. I was not printing anything and I saw the small screen of the printer lighted. It said it was downloading and warned not to shut it down, like a Windows 10 upgrade. I then read on theregister.co.uk that HP was sending firmware patches to avoid the printer being captured by hackers. Evidently HP knows the address of my printer. Amazing.

Alessio Figalli,34, Italian mathematician wins one of the Fields Medals 44 years after the one assigned to Enrico Bombieri who is now at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton,NJ, USA. Figalli, born in Rome, is professor at the Zurich Polytechnic, the famous ETH where also Einstein was professor. It seems that in order to be appreciated Italian scientists have to go outside Italy where too often you make a career only if you are connected to a leading political party.

Great team work by Sky Team.
Now Thomas poses with a Welsh flag alongside compatriot and team manager Dave Brailsford.
The pair embrace and Thomas breaks down in tears.
I had hoped that the Movistar team with riders like Valverde and Quintana would had a place on the podium.
Well Perhaps next year:)

The Tour will be decided by the clock race of Saturday. Mountains can count little.

In 1950 with Fiorenzo Magni leader the Italian national team was retired by Gino Bartali (a Just among the Nations) because of the French public behavior towards a foreign team. Sky may retire its team too, depending on what happens now.

Message 1946122 - Posted: 24 Jul 2018, 21:26:52 UTC - in response to Message 1946116.

Team Sky manager Dave Brailsford has blamed the hostile roadside reaction his team have faced at the Tour de France on a 'French cultural thing' and suggested that the race omit non-French teams if they are not treated with more respect.
“It's like a French cultural thing really, isn't it? That's it. I'm not sure that they would have liked their football players spat at in Russia [at the World Cup -ed]. I'm sure that there would be a word or two about that. But it's okay to spit on us and our staff."
Brailsford then singled out a member of Team Sky's staff and referenced her by name. She is 21 and works as part of the support staff and alongside their media department at the race.
"I've got young staff. She [we have chosen not to name her -ed] is 21. She's a young girl and she's trying to drive around France and it's intimidating for her. To be spat at… personally, I'd have a bit of an issue if that was going on in my country. But there we go. We'll carry on.
"I don't think it's going to stop. I'm not too optimistic on that front. It's challenging, we accept it, and we just have to make a decision as to how to behave. We're trying to remain dignified. We're trying not to react. We're trying to stay in a mindset where we're not distracted by it. Equally, I don't think that spitting has a place in the sport. I'm not sure it has a place in everyday life, really. It seems to be the thing that's done here. It's a shame but we're not going to let it distract us.”

Tour de France Carcassonne- Bagneres de Luchon
1 Julien Alaphilippe France
I don't think that the people who stopped the race were farmers. They were simply searching for their 15 minutes of celebrity. We shall see more of this, also because the Manager of the Sky team has said harsh words about France and Frenchmen.
