Incendi in Svezia: in partenza equipaggi italiani per fronteggiare gli incendi boschivi che stanno nuovamente interessando il Paese.
https://twitter.com/DPCgov/status/1019098157723144192

Grazie Italia:)

Well,Aksel Munthe ran from Finland to Messina to help the survivors of the 1908 quake and tsunami, like he narrates in his book "Story of San Michele". There was an article on La Repubblica Friday magazine about today's Capri and its problems with too many tourists. Munthe was not mentioned.

Well Axel Munthe also lived in a Lapp cot above the pole circle, endured the cholera of Naples, and was mountaineering the Matterhorn,
There are many myths about him. Self appointed of course:)
And Axel Munthe attracted women. He turned out to be a virtuoso in the art of seduction. When our Queen Victoria, always suffering, died in April 1930, sixty-seven years old, Axel Munthe stood at her bed. "Come soon", her last words should have been.

According to Froome it was not meant that the Team Sky should attack today but tomorrow.
And tomorrow the third Alpine stage features famous climbs: Col de la Madeleine, Croix-de-Fer and L'Alpe d'Huez!

General classification after stage 12:

1 Geraint Thomas (GBr) Team Sky 49:24:43
2 Chris Froome (GBr) Team Sky 0:01:39
3 Tom Dumoulin (Ned) Team Sunweb 0:01:50
4 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Bahrain-Merida 0:02:37

Vincenzo Nibali on his crash
There were two police motorbikes but there weren't any barriers at that point. When Froome attacked, I went after him and felt good. Then we were slowed up and I went down. I don't know what happened.
[How did you manage to chase?] I managed to get up and chase because I felt good, my form is good. I'd attacked to test the others. I also wanted to attack again.
[Do you think you'll be given back the time lost, like Froome on Mount Ventoux?] I don't know because then Froome was in yellow. These things happen because there's a lot of people and the road narrows. (RAI)

Tour de France: stage 16 sabotaged by protesting farmers
Thomas and Froome amongst riders affected by police pepper spray.
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/tour-de-france-stage-16-sabotaged-by-protesting-farmers/
Not quite 30km into the day, stage 16 of the Tour de France was halted for 15 minutes after a roadside protest. Farmers rolled hay bales onto the road to narrow and a number of riders needed treatment for problems with their eyes, apparently due to police using pepper spray or tear gas to try to control the protesters.

I don't think that the people who stopped the race were farmers. They were simply searching for their 15 minutes of celebrity. We shall see more of this, also because the Manager of the Sky team has said harsh words about France and Frenchmen.

Message 1946122 - Posted: 24 Jul 2018, 21:26:52 UTC - in response to Message 1946116.

Team Sky manager Dave Brailsford has blamed the hostile roadside reaction his team have faced at the Tour de France on a 'French cultural thing' and suggested that the race omit non-French teams if they are not treated with more respect.
“It's like a French cultural thing really, isn't it? That's it. I'm not sure that they would have liked their football players spat at in Russia [at the World Cup -ed]. I'm sure that there would be a word or two about that. But it's okay to spit on us and our staff."
Brailsford then singled out a member of Team Sky's staff and referenced her by name. She is 21 and works as part of the support staff and alongside their media department at the race.
"I've got young staff. She [we have chosen not to name her -ed] is 21. She's a young girl and she's trying to drive around France and it's intimidating for her. To be spat at… personally, I'd have a bit of an issue if that was going on in my country. But there we go. We'll carry on.
"I don't think it's going to stop. I'm not too optimistic on that front. It's challenging, we accept it, and we just have to make a decision as to how to behave. We're trying to remain dignified. We're trying not to react. We're trying to stay in a mindset where we're not distracted by it. Equally, I don't think that spitting has a place in the sport. I'm not sure it has a place in everyday life, really. It seems to be the thing that's done here. It's a shame but we're not going to let it distract us.”

In 1950 with Fiorenzo Magni leader the Italian national team was retired by Gino Bartali (a Just among the Nations) because of the French public behavior towards a foreign team. Sky may retire its team too, depending on what happens now.
