Paris-Roubaix
1 Peter Sagan Slovakia
2 Sylvan Dillier Switzerland
3 Niki Terpstra Nederlands
4 Greg Van Avermaet Belgium

Missed that race due to very nice spring weather here at last.
The riders have to endure 54.5 kilometres of pavé in Paris-Roubaix. Which is more than one fifth of the total amount of kilometres.
Paris-Roubaix is called l'Enfer du Nord (hell in north)
Then I saw that Michael Goolaerts has been taken to hospital following a crash. The 23-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to a nearby hospital in Lille.

Anyway. Here is Peter Sagan at the velodrom in Roubaix that was the last kilometer in the race.

Le Repubblica paper reports of a mining factory in downtown Milano with 50 computers underground. But there is another near Ferrara with 400 computers. Giving the high price of electricity in Italy (I pay 19 eurocents/kWh) I wonder if they gain any money. I pay 120 euro for a two months bill with my 3 computers running 24/7. This includes also the cost of RAI TV, 9 euros/month for ten months. Then I have the SKY TV bill, which I watch very little, since it does not cover ski and bicycle racing, more 21 euros/month. But I shall abort it and watch Eurosport on a Telecom TIM Box decoder, 2 euros/month.

Michael Valgren claimed victory in Amstel Gold Race today.
Det är dejligt:)
Veteran Alejandro Valverde came 5th.

Tomorrow Tour of the Alps starts in Arco, Italy with 5 stages to Innsbruck, Austria.
Fabio Aru and Thibaut Pinot have confirmed they will take on Chris Froome at the Tour of the Alps, as all three use the mountainous stage race to prepare for the rapidly approaching Giro d'Italia that starts in Israel on May 4.

Valverde didn't claimed a fifth straight victory.
Alejandro Valverde, only 4 seconds behind, has no complaints about his second place. "I know Julian Alaphilippe is a great rider, so I don't feel any bitterness. He was just stronger than me and I couldn't close the gap to him."

Meanwhile Tour of the Alps:
Thibaut Pinot (Fra) moves into race lead.
2 Domenico Pozzovivo (Ita)
3 Miguel Angel Lopez (Col)
4 Christopher Froome (GBr)
5 Fabio Aru (Ita)

Italy has entered the LOFAR (Low frequency array) of radiotelescopes for low frequency observations of radio sources. The Italian station will be built at Medicina (Bologna) near the existing Croce del Nord Radio Telescope. Most of the LOFAR stations are now in Nederlands, a pioneer state in radio astronomy.

Gino Bartali has received a posthumous Israel citizenship for carrying false identity documents in the tubes of his bike from Perugia to Florence, which saved the lives of at least 800 Jews. He was already accepted as Just among the Nations by Yad Yashem. His relatives will be present at the Giro start in Jerusalem.
