thanks Ozz...
it takes a bit of caffeine for me to function correctly..
and moving in 95F heat isn't helpful either.

Yeah I know. We have nothing but 10-12 year old CRTs at work. :/

I have a CRT that is close to 17 years old. Works fine for what it does.

I use it once every few weeks, for ten minutes or so at a time.

well thats good, b/c these things decrease eye-sight over time...

as they say, don't get too close to the tv for it will ruin your eyes... same applies for crt monitors...

Should I be worried, as I use 22" Iiyama Vision Master Pro 510's at home?

Iona...i think the main thing is not to sit too close to it...
and not for extended periods of time.

on the other hand....
fully moved in...finally!

and a heat wave starts.
so the five quads are sleeping,
a little too much heat all at once.

the crt's are all in the workshop
one or two might make it to the garage.
thinking the three dual P3 servers will keep the
garage warm this winter
and the older P4's and AMD stuff will keep the
workshop bearable in the colder seasons...

amazing how much stuff you find that you forget you have when you move...

Where's the pics of the finished article then?

All that fuss over moving... and no pics ;-)

Only have 2 rigs, no need to put them in a separate garage... :-)

@Ned - I have a 17" CRT monitor that is 16yrs old and still going strong. Bought it with a de-interlacer for running my Amiga setup at the time. Cost £400 which was expensive back then. Now runs on my kids' rig (my second Seti rig) at 1280x1024 @75Hz. Not a grumble out of it, although the plastic surround around the screen is starting to crack due to the weight of the CRT. Of course, now I've sung it's praises, it's bound to suffer a total existence failure soon :-)

regards, Gizbar.
