No worries mate.....
When you look at the server status page, you have to look at both the time the page was updated, and then at the time since a particular stat was updated, and add the two together to see how long ago a stat was actually valid.

Hopefully they ARE able to get the splitters back into high gear again soon, and start filling the caches again.

For example, as of 28 minutes ago, ready to send is back down to zero...
And as of 13 minutes ago, split rate was 3.7808...

And as of at least 5 minutes ago (1800utc), all the assimilators and splitters were disabled/not running. Guess we're trying to clear that backlog and prepare for the outage tomorrow...

Down to 2 jobs, one will finish in about a minute, the other has about 20 minutes left to run.
I am unable to download rosetta as well.

Well I was always told that when you find youself waist deep in allegators, the first thing you do is drain the swamp.
Maybe that is what they are about to do.

None of my machines can get jobs. But, it looks like none of you can get them either. I can upload fine, but I can't download, says out of jobs.

God I hope this economy gets better so that more of us can donate...

Looks like everyman or woman for themselves.
Grab the biggest cache you can to get over whatever is thrown your way.
Forget what others say about running a 2 or 3 day cache and Boinc will take care of it.
I have been running other projects along side Seti and a good job too.

So.. remember how I mentioned in my last note how we just got new raw data from Arecibo? Well, the script copying it over to the raw data storage server failed to register the file system was full, and packed it up tight. Turns out this caused the storage server some distress, and when I finally checked into it this morning the load was high and all the nfsd's were in disk wait. I deleted one excess file, the nfsd's sprung to life and the whole dam broke, the splitters charged full steam ahead, and the network bandwidth is now tapped out trying to catch up on demand. Fair enough.

Hey, I was almost right.. WU storage was full, but not because of the shorty storm.

I managed to grab another 58 units to last me probably another 1/4 of a day or less. Most of them are shorties...

I still had about two days of crunching left on all of my rigs (4-day cache ends up being about 6) and managed to completely fulfill the work requests on all four rigs.

With all of these bandwidth problems, would it be wise to introduce a school full of computers to SETI? I've gotten the green light from the school principal and now she is talking to the tech guy that manages what happens to those machines.

It's the smallest school in the district, 50 machines if that, but will that hurt SETI in any measurable way?

And... if, by some strange event (this kind of thing never happens to me), I got the OK to introduce more schools (at least 200 per school, district total of maybe 1,500), should I hold off until you get that fiber link?

On another note... I get so jealous when I see people write "100 units left. I should be good for another half a day." I know what I'm doing if I hit the powerball... You think SETI will work with those Tesla machines? I'd just love to be able to say "100 units left. Should last until the end of this sentence."
