Thank you Carlos for the win :D... So I guess Im supposed to kick this new one off.

I think ill adopt Carlos' rules (ie. There are No Rules except the moderation policy).

So I am thinking of a integer between 1 and 1000, and when the replies hit this the person who's reply falls on this number will win...

Good luck...

HINT for my number if anyone wants to work it out...
(((((Invert the numbers you get from from 4!)+The number from which all meaning could be derived)^2)/6-(5!)-56)/4 +((Fermium-1)+(Promethium-17)+(Ytterbium as a whole int +1)

pm me the answer, Ill then pm back if your right!!

Yours and mine both. Although I still think it might be nice to throw a stab at the actual rules into the opening post sometime so the next Joe in line doesn't have to keep guessing. :-)

Something to start perpetuating at some point. :-)

Thanks everyone for the PM's and forum posts... I just read the message in my inbox on some of the rules and have had to change my number slightly so the revised formula is:

(((((Invert the numbers you get from from 4!)+The number from which all meaning could be derived)^2)/6-(5!)-56)/4 +((Fermium-1)+(Promethium-17)+(Ytterbium as a whole int +1))

(BTW its 4am here in the UK so forgive me if ive messed this up... As beofre PM me if you think you have the answer also it wouldnt hurt for someone to check my math :D)

No fun giving such a blatant hint that any math major can figure out when we need to be posting though. :-)

Congrats again, but can someone translate that into greek or some other understandable language.

It's really simple:

Everyone knows + - / and ^ as the normal math operators and () to group things.

Everyone should know ! = Factorial

The number from which all meaning could be derived.
You all know this number from your textbook on thumbing a ride.

Fermium
is on the table where?

Promethium
is on the table where?

Ytterbium
is on the table where?

"as a whole int"
Ah, the key -- not just the number of ... but the number of ...

Unless I misplaced the ()'s that number is vbmyfghk [no carrier]

actually knowing the number takes the fun out of it, so I hope that isn't the secret number.
