I have two identical GPU cards inside my PC,they both appear in the Windows device manager. My PC anyway works one only CUDA task a time. Moreover I checked the GPUs temperature and one only is hot while the other one isn't so it's not working. Any hint? max |

For BOINC 6.6.25 and above use a cc_config.xml file in your BOINC Data directory with (at least) the following entries: |

Hi Ageless, sorry I'm not too experienced? I get a "Missing start tag in cc_config.xml" message from the Boinc manager. I guess I might use a different editor? I used a openoffice.org editor, saved without extension and renamed it .xml What can I do? max |

Hi Ageless, There was a - instead of a _ in <cc-config> Try this: <cc_config> <options> <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> </options> </cc_config> Claggy |

Hi Jord and Claggy, thank you very much! Now the cc_config is ok,the manager displays the "configured to use all coprocessors" message, then it displays "CUDA device:" only one of the two GPU cards, and then again I see only one task at time. I tried two identical and then two different GPUs. What can I try next? max |

Do you have enough work for the GPUs? Can you post the BOINC Start-Up messages, please? Further questions: Did you extend the desktop to the second GPU? Do you use a monitor or a dummy VGA connector on the second videocard? You do not have SLI enabled, do you? As then both your GPUs are used as one. |

Yes I have much GPU WUs I tried to save the initial messages but I can't find where Windows saves the note file? But neither I extended the desktop to the second card nor I used a monitor or a dummy connector! I tried to put two cards as SLI,I putted the connector on,but I can't find the option on the NVIDIA control panel where indicated inside the ASUS manual? I checked all the menues and options on the NVIDIA control panel, then I gave up and tried to let the cards work separately. I will try to extend the desktop and use a second monitor next and I will let you know soon. Thank you very much to all! max |

I tried to save the initial messages but I can't find where Windows saves the note file? The filename is stdoutdae.txt and the directory is listed in BOINC manager's Messages tab after a restart of the client. The directory is probably hidden. ...I tried to put two cards as SLI... Don't! They are only recognized as two separate GPUs if SLI is off. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Great!! Thank you very much to all!! I'd plug in a second monitor so the NVIDIA detected it and this is enough to let the the computer works 2 CUDA units at time! Now I have again only one monitor plugged in and all is still ok! About the messages,it let just to copy them to the "clipboard" which is smartly hidden somewhere? I guess it might be a kind of punition from Microsoft? :) I will receive two more CUDA cards on Tuesday and now I know how to let them cruch WUs! Thanks again to all for supporting!! max |

About the messages,it let just to copy them to the "clipboard" which is smartly hidden somewhere? Everything gets copied to the "clipboard". When you want to copy from the clipboard to your post, all you have to do is select Edit -> Paste and it will paste the information you copied to the clipboard into the post. |
