Glad to see the moon is back. Took my scope out last night and was showing the neighborhood kids Saturn and lunar details.

Good morning everyone. Its been way to cloudy to even hardly see the moon. But i will all ways remember the first time i showed the kids the moon thru a telescope. The amazement they feel is awesome. Heck i still remember the first time i looked at the moon thru a scope.
The first time the wife and i saw Saturns rings was breath taking.

Carlos you probally turned some kid into and astronomer.)

"Astronomy is looking up."

I remember when I was a kid using a telescope to watch a total solar eclipse...

  • Put the top of the 'scope out a window, with dark curtains closed around it.
  • Put on a right-angle attachment to direct the light to the side.
  • Remove the eye-piece.

This projects a large image on the wall for the viewing experience of everyone in the room.

All my scopes are SCT. The internal heat from pointing at the sun could pop the scope.

I remember as a kid in the 60s that we made card board boxes with a sheet of white paper and a pencil hole in the box toi see the eclipse. or you can just poke a hole in a sheet of card board and show it on the floor or a wall.

When a lady dances it is reminiscent of hydramatic drive - when I dance, they call the paramedics as a possible epilleptic seizure! I must take a pass on the invitation!

Sounds like you are having a great day. Helicopter ride over your islands,9 that’s over my head:) Hope you had your camera with you. It is great to be alive!!! As for dancing, I'm with you. Today is the 4th. My little Danish town goes all out for it. We have a parade at 10. Live music starting at 11 on three stages spread around town. Bar-b-Q, carnival rides, face painting, etc. All culminating with a huge firework show tonight. Starting at 9 am the main road thru town is closed to traffic. This town knows how to party. My kids really like the parade. Most of the entries throw out candy.
I’m throwing my own party to. Pool and spa are open, chairs are set for optimal fireworks viewing. I already have the ice cream machines going and will start the fire soon. Let’s Party!!!

Now we are finished with the independence day.. and hopefully
you have all slept it off.. ;-) I have mostly slept off my

And the only thing i regret about the weekend is that i didnt
had my camera with me in the helicopter. But its no big deal ;-)

..Hmmm..Where did my coffee go?
I`ll better find it.
