Hei ;-) Im just inside for a while.. even if i have
lots to do, ive taken the day off - at least until
early evening, when i have some tasks I Have to do.
Painting have to wait until tomorrow - i really
need to enjoy this lovely summer day ;-)

hehehe - Lutefisk? LoL - that would have been great.
Its very good ;-)

Well.. if i knew the english names on the fish..
Lets see.. Most normal is
Herring, Pollock, Atlantic mackerel, (this is what this
particular boat catch normally. Then its of course
Atlantic cod, and other sorts i cant remember the
english name on.. Well.. The bigger boats all got
a surtain ammount of some sorts they are allowed to
fish each year.

Mmmhh.. We have still aLOT to paint, so the
reward shouldnt come just yet.. ;-) No, I would
allow him to do this no matter what - as long as
it was possible to get the allowance. He is a good
boy, and he needs some experiences - This is one
he has wished for quite a while..
He called me earler today - they Have got fish..
Its said they are coming in for deliery later tonight,
so I guess he comes back home then..

What looks like salmon farm is not ;-)
These are nets that belong to the blue boat - they
use it when they fish more that they are going to
deliver at once.. So the fish is going there to
be taken directly from the sea when delivered.
They have to make sure its not too much in each
net of course, and in very warm weather it cant
go too many days - as then the fish will die -
they normally go down on much deeper water when
its warm in the sea..

;-) thanx for the saying - aye its a beautiful
place.. This photo is taken 2 meter from
my house wall.. ;-) And if you look carefully, you
will see a person in a gray and green sweather, sitting
wathing the boats. Thats my oldest son.. This pic
was taken last summer btw..

Mmmhh.. I`ll better go outside again..... ;-D
cya!

Hi Moon i went back and looked and yes i see him. So you live that close to the sea. wow. You must get some really nasty cold winds blowing off the sea in the winter. BUt still, what a place!

And now something from my past: Tannas is the name of a group I saw years ago in a celtic festival in a place not far from home. I really like their music, so I've even brought the CD, "Ru-rà". Yesterday I found THIS ONE in Youtube: Ho Na Ribeannan is a song from that album. Good music and good photo. Hope you like them.

Hi Mike ;-)

James.. have you not been into my web-site and
seen through any photos? ;-) there are 5 pages
only in the island-pears section.. There May
be one or two more you will like...

Dreamer - thanx - Celtic music is good ;-)

Den fyrste Song - The first Song..

I got this sudden urge to post a norwegian
folk song - It is a beautiful song.. and
most kids learn it during school time - Many
singers has recorded it also. I found a very
nice version of Herborg Kråkevik, but even if
she has a lovely voice, i do find this other
version with the two guys even better, because
it is more "natural" sort of.. What you
prefer is your choise.. I post them both..
Ì`ll post the norwegian text here too - and
a very quick translation. its a sad lyric - but still
not sad - because its about how love will
survive time and death and never go away... ;-)

Den fyrste song - Herbjørg Kråkevik

Den fyrste song - Kenneth and Bjørn ;-)

Den fyrste song eg høyra fekk,
var mor sin song ved vogga,
dei mjuke ord til hjarta gjekk,
dei kunne gråten stogga.

Dei sulla meg så underleg,
så stilt og mjukt te sova,
dei synte meg ein fager veg
opp frå vår vesle stova.

Den vegen ser eg enno tidt
når eg får auga kvila,
der stend ein engel, smiler blidt,
som berre ei kan smila.

Og når eg sliten trøytnar av
i strid mot alt som veilar,
eg høyrer stilt frå mor si grav
den song som all ting heilar.

- english translation - very quickly done ;-)

The first song I ever heard
was mum`s song by the cradle
The soft words made their way to my heart
they could stop my crying.

They calmed me so dearly,
so quiet and soft to sleep.
They showd me a lovely way
up from our little cottage.

That road I still often see
when I get rest on my eyes
There`s standing an angel, smiles so cheerful,
as only one can smile.

And when I weary go to rest
in the fight of all that`s so difficult,
I can silently hear from my mothers grave
that song that heals everything.....

What she is not telling us here, that, yes the summer evenings are nice and long, but in the winter, well ...maybe Moon will post some pics of that.

This is similar to what I saw from the oh-twelve level of the island on the carrier Essex during the NATO exercise Operation Swordthrust. Only it was AT SEA and the light Danced as if posessed! That was my introduction to the arctic circle and the North Atlantic. As most can attest - I've not been the same since.

Not knowing what we know now I gotta hand it to them Vikings - they had a lotta moxie to accomplish what they did with what they had! By the time I left the open deck I also had a deeper respect for the Pillsbury Doughboy!

Hei to all of you! ;-) ..and even Mitchell has turned up
from the vanished.. hehe - Great! ;-)

Yes, the Northern Light is amazing. Its not too often I see it
but it happens.. Of course my camera is not good enough to
capture those events very well.. but if I ever happen to
see it, and have the cam within reach, I`ll give it a try..
The photos posted here is great though!

(I sent Carlos a link to a resized photo - but I guess he is
not awake yet...? hehe)

Ive been painting a bit again today. But I had to stop now,
as its way to hot.. its 28`c on the norht-east side of house,
where the cold air comes in from sea. No wind.. So yes - on
the other sides of the house its not possible to breath..
But inside its lovely ;-))) Gosh.. when finally the summer
comes, we go Inside! LoL -
Nah..i had a good day yesterday - and i`ll turn my nose outside
again in a while.. but Not any more painting today...mmmhh..at
least not the next hour or two.. ;p ;p

I know what water rafting is.. ;-)) put WHITE?? whats
that about? pP Nice to hear you enjoy..

Oh...btw.. my sons are on their way to the shop to
buy me some chocolate!
