Finally! I've been crunching on and off over the last several years, but came back about four years ago.

So, I've been on-again off-again for months at a time (can't run this thing during summer), but yea. Hi. :)

As a sidenote, this i7 has been crunching more in two weeks than my previous contestant managed in 8 months.

Would you guys quit passing my toaster around? It's gonna be worn out before I get to use it! :-)

Surely you want it "quality tested" (burned-in??) before you get it? ;-P

"Burned-in" is not a quality I would prefer in regard to toast.
This thread is now toast.

Hi everyone & many congratulations.

Of the 348 who signed up on the same day as me - 27 July 99 - Odysseus says around 100 are still active contributors. Taken as a representative day sample that's not bad going for 10+ years.
Kind regards -
Preston

I should be here too. I joined in June of 1999, have 5108 classic units, and will be here for another 10 years at least.

Another early starter. In those days was probably Celeron 300A @ 450MHz doing most of my crunching.

I started 28 May 1999 with a Celeron 333MHz, but moved to a Pentium III 800MHz overclocked to 1.1GHz. 5000 classic WU's.

After that I got serious.

Never stopped. Think the first machine was a P166 with 32Mb RAM and it cost about £3000!!

Then a Dual PPro and from then onwards it was DP all the way until the release of i7. A stack of BP6's, Xeon's, Athlons - in fact the Athlon MP is still going.

Taught me a lot about hardware over the years though - latest machine i7 running two 9600GT's and cuda.

Still gonna keep running just for fun, whether we'll actually find anything is debatable but you have to be in it to win it as they say.

Just found the thread, and thought I'd chime in...

Been a member for 10 years, though not running it for ten straight years :(

I do have a ten year machine running Seti, 800Mhz Athlon that I used forever and is now a hand me down machine to a relitive.

i started crunching 28th feb 2000, so 10 years today it is a long time, hope to be around another ten years. went away for a while and returned just before last christmas, had retired some of my pc`s and i got a quadcore it has crunched a good 147,000 since then,i wanted to improve crunching but on a bugit,so i got 2 nvidia geforce gt 240`s 512 meg ddr5 ram.and the crunching is now going well. put one in the quady. and the other in a dual core made a lot of diferance to totals. glad to be back. the wife said theres not going to be any more pc`s so the graphics cards where the only way to go to inprove the over all crunching.good luck to all 10 year club members onward and upward may your totals go. (les).
