Message 920899 - Posted: 24 Jul 2009, 1:53:33 UTC - in response to Message 918073.

May I submit a membership application on behalf of my Celeron 400 MMX:

Crunched Classic until closedown, and is crunching today:

(and since it does 50% Einstein, it'll be crunching tomorrow, whatever happens with the servers)

Anyone else got a computer in the 10 year club?

That is pretty neat. The 333Mhz Celeron I had when I started seti@home no longer has a motherboard but I still have the CPU! I was cleaning up some stuff on an older system and I found an old install folder for BOINC dating back to 11/23/2003 3:54AM. Guess I didn't sleep back then either lol

I'm sure if I look really hard I could find a floppy with the command line seti@home application I use to use to setup systems at work. Wait.... I don't have a floppy drive anymore.

Cheers to everyone's 10 years of setiing!

I crunched PAST the Classic shutdown, my last WU couldn't be returned because the Classic servers were permanantly shutdown.

And I STILL don't have an avitar!

Oh I had several machines running it past the cut off. I imagine the web server for the company I use to work for still loads it on start up. lol

I just tracked down my old (abandoned) account, and it shows that I signed up initially in May, 1999.

That's the one that got all of my "Classic" credit....

Dang, it's been 10 years? Hard to believe. Wow a lot has changed since then. New jobs, new career and new computers. Just figure the computers should do something while they sit idle. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Still does. Just make sure the fans work and the vents are clean. Congrats everyone and thanks for letting me play.

10 years today for me.

I ran classic until 2004, then started using BOINC in 2007.

Not noticed this before. I don't know if that includes the time spent running the SaH application before BOINC, which I did also.

I had a strong feeling last week, that a very special day was near, just couldn't remember the occasion. Now I know :D
Congratulations to all who did, or are about to achieve this magnificent milestone.
