Ok, I did a search and could not find a 10 year club thread. So I just had to start it. I know there are other members, out there, so Congratulations to each of you. Today marks my 10 years of Seti crunching. So come joint the club.

Several of us made it in within the last month. Glad you started an official thread for the 10 year club. Let's hope it sticks.

Yes! I have finally passed the ten year mark. Congratulations to all who have been here since the start, or at least just after the start as I was. . . Speaking of which, whatever happened to that ten year anniversary t-shirt contest? Whatever the design, I want one or two or three. For that matter, I would not mind another of the original Seti@Home t-shirts. Mine are a bit old looking now a days.

Yeah 10 years here, long time crunching and nothing to show .....
I decided to hang up the gloves and give it a rest. It is very quiet now in the computer room but I don't miss it that much. Yesterday I found myself listening to the quiet room wondering what has happen when I realized that all 3 computers are off. Maybe one day if SETI is still out there I'll come back but for now I'm fed up and tired of it. Done and over it. I spend a lot of money and time just to have more credits, now is the time to take a break and let the younger generation take over. To all of you good luck. As a side note this SETI community has a lot of good people willing to help unlike any other community on the net. You people are great and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Thank you ALL it's been great 10 years.

Sure am glad you joined the day before me. I work hard to keep my #1 spot for sign up date. If you had waited one more day, I would never have been able to take and hold the #1 spot.

I joined the S@H Project 03Aoril 1999, crunching "classic" data and later the enhanced data on my Pentium II under Mandrake Linux (ML8.x and earlier). Back then took 10+ hrs to complete 1 "classic" WU. Nowadays with optimized apps can bang out 2+ enhanced WUs/ hour on my C2D CPU and 3+ enhanced WU/ hour on GPU.
I do hope the Project can rollout NTPCkr http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ntpckr_faq.php pretty soon.
Cheers!

June 7 was my 10 year, however I boycotted SeTi for a couple years after they went to BOINC because of the loss of credits for the Classic users. I came back and crunch Seti some, but not at the same old "find them anywhere, anytime" feeling that I had back then. I have branched out, focusing on the raw sciences.

Finding a needle in the haystack would be a simple thing compared to what we are attempting to accomplish. And there are many haystacks out there that can be gone through a second (third, fourth, etc) time with a slightly different set of parameteres to find out stuff that we didn't even know was available to find. The more we know, the more we can adjust the programs to find those things that we don't know.

I don't crunch for stats so much anymore, just can't see letting my computers go to sleep.

10 years today! 16 June 1999 - 16 June 2009.

Looking at my numbers since BOINC started, I can't help but think I've let the side down a bit. :(
