I say nay. The time I've been here you've never offended me.

Wouldn't that be a 'Yay' then?

> me thinks Xen meant 'nay' - as in: "Don't go" ;)

Kittyman, every person has value. We are a community of friends here and I value your friendship. I will be happy to state that whenever and wherever it needs to be heard. Many amongst us struggle with mental illness. Many amongst us struggle with addiction. I hope that you find comfort and friendship in this community, as these gifts are present here in great abundance.

Fondly,
Angela

Angela....
Thank you for those wonderful thoughts.
I hope that others realize that they apply to them as well. When I am strong enough, it gives me joy to lend an ear and a kind word to others who are having their troubles. And I thank others who do the same when I am having a bad day.

We do indeed have a lot of good people here.

What lovely thoughts, you've expressed, Angela. We've come some way from the days when 'gentle-folk', would pay to visit the notorious Bethlem Hospital, finding amusement in the plight of the patients, and were often provided with sticks to antagonise them with. Sometimes however, I wonder if some people today, are really any better than those so-called visitors to Bedlam. I also greatly value Mark's friendship and I'm more than happy to state that. A big, "yay", "yes", "oui" or whatever.

And thank you, Ozz.....

I really DO try....

I constantly have to remind myself that the whole world is not out to get me.......
And the few that are, I should be smart enough to deal with....without going ballistic about it.

If you didn't smoke, who would??

I'll smoke with you, but I would rather have a Guinness...with a whiskey chaser...

I enjoy your poetry and musings Mark. My wife keeps asking if you have posted more Kitty pictures - so you are the SETI-poster she asks about. As far as we are concerned - please keep posting.

Everyone is different and we ALL have our own difficulties. Everyone has good days and bad days (for one reason or another) - but at least the Kitties can make us smile.

Got a wee Tortie (I think that is a Calico in the USA) purring around my feet as I type this now - so I am off to feed her and watch her play. : )

I guess that is a long winded way of saying - keep on posting please.

Forgot to say - One thing I don't agree with is "Everything in moderation". Sometimes a little excess can be both needed and enjoyable. Just, only do the "excess" bit in moderation.

Just realised how daft that must sound - but you know what I mean.

You should never need to do anything in excess, and if you feel you do, perhaps you should take care of whatever is bothering you instead.

And by "you", I mean that generally and not specifically you personally.

I guess it depends what one means by "excess" I suspect. Sometimes it is a positive pleasure to go just a little beyond what you might normally do. For example, I am a keen amateur astronomer, but normally only observe / image for 2-3 hours at a time. I think it unfair to my wife to stay out until 4 in the morning. But perhaps twice a year, when the sky is particularly clear and still, I will 'phone my wife from my (out of Town) observing site and suggest I stay out VERY late. She has always been okay with this (and if she wasn't, then I would accept her wishes). I guess the excess here is that I don't NEED to do astronomy until exhausted - there can always be another time, but it is nice to endulge oneself sometimes. A wee treat.

I agree that alcohol and smoking to excess isn't a good idea (I don't smoke and don't drink to excess - social drinker only).

So... a little moderate excess (but then, is that exces?) can be good - just don't get into the habit.

My personal view - feel entirely free to disagree - everyone is different and that is one of the interesting things about our short time here on Earth.

Regards to All

Tom
