Just updated to version 6.6.31, and whenever I plan on overclocking anything I always need to exit otherwise I will get an computation error before changing any settings. Did anyone happen to notice on the new version exiting the boinc manager takes it out of the system tray but does not stop it from running? Still running in device mangaer. Card temp would not drop down after I exited is what made me start looking for it? Anyone else or is this just me? |

Yea, this happen to me the other night..was sort of a pain to close Boinc out to..the tasks move around on this Vista machine and being able to find it/click on it to end it, was a challenge in itself. |

Did anyone happen to notice on the new version exiting the boinc manager takes it out of the system tray but does not stop it from running? Dude tell me about it! I can't close BOINC unless I reboot my computer but I have an easy get around for everyone. Right click on the BOINC icon and select "Snooze." You will notice that the Seti work units will disappear in the "Windows Task Manager." Do what you need to do then go back and unclick "Snooze" again. Get Crunchin! BDDave |

This works at least on 6.6.36: - open a command prompt window and go to "\Program Files\BOINC\" directory - there is an executable program boincmd.exe, run it with parameter --quit - this should shutdown boinc and the science apps |

The easiest way to stop the client (including the science apps) is via the Advanced menu in BOINC manager: select Shutdown connected client... and press OK and then Cancel. With File->exit BOINC is then stopped completely. Version 6.6.36 should not need that procedure though. Make sure that you did not install in Protected Application Execution mode. In Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Options check "Enable Manager exit dialog". When you exit the manager, you get the exit-options box. There check the "Stop running science applications when exiting the Manager". Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Version 6.6.36 should not need that procedure though. Make sure that you did not install in Protected Application Execution mode. Also make sure before installing 6.6.36, that you quit 6.6.31 and shut down all the science applications, else they continue running during the installation of 6.6.36 and afterwards, giving a wrong view of the situation at hand. |
