I'm having a bunch of WU's start the timer and make progress, then complete after 12-38 seconds or so and then report in short order without any work being done at all as the WU's stay at 0% and never get to even 1% done. Boinc 6.6.28(x64), V11 Cross Watch app(x32), Cuda 2.2 dll files(x32), XP x64 sp2 and AK_V8 SSSE3x(x64) @ 3.51GHz, Temps are normal for the cpu and the GTX295, Nvidia Driver is 185.85 of course. Quite possibly -9's. This is a limit on the number of features based on the science. If it takes 1/2 second to reach the max or 12 hours to reach the max, the task still errors out. BOINC WIKI |

Great well they get uploaded and I get set backs of 3+ hours, Maybe I should just stop doing Seti, Maybe do gpugrid, As I'd think I'd have something to crunch. I don't know as I'm frustrated. The main question is are they validating? If so then your unlucky... Try running the CUDA memory checker to see if any memory issues exist. The main question is are they validating? No I don't think You understand popandbob, One gpu would go through a whole cache almost and the other would crunch as normal, It did fine for a while, Of course I'm having psu problems in a 3 year old psu that was never meant to run any GTX 200 series video card(I bought It back in 2006, the 850w psu that is), Now I wait, As I'm not sure which will happen 1st the new psu(Enermax 1050w Revolution85+ psu) will get here or the old one(an OCZ 850w GameXstream) that I've had for Years and is adapted to be used with the GTX295 card will die, As even with no cuda files to crunch and only using 3 cores the PC froze briefly later when I had cuda files It froze for longer times and earlier still It had froze completely and had to be reset which resulted in a black screen and so I had to turn the PC Off and then On again to complete the reboot of the PC. That file requires an account so It's out, But since there's nothing wrong with the card, I won't run It as It's a power supply problem. The main question is are they validating? Cannot you select to only use one GPU core until the power supply problem is resolved. My guess is that even if you do try to run gpugrid as well you will end up with the same problem. Not enough power to maintain correct operation of both gpu cores. |

The main question is are they validating? You mean turn one gpu off? It's a GTX295, So not that I know of, If I reconfigured the app info file for 1 gpu instead of 2 and the other file for 1 gpu, But then I'd get an error as the app wants to see both gpus being used. Damned if I do and damned if I don't. Now if only the psu will get here, It's supposed to ship on the 21st, maybe. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Your initial post indicated a problem so I offered a solution... Since it is a power supply problem then GPUgrid will be worse as it uses more power than Seti's cuda does. Your initial post indicated a problem so I offered a solution... I'm also a bit frustrated and some of It isn't a Seti or psu problem, As the Dear Governor and the Legislature is trying to balance the state budget on the backs of the disabled who get SSI/SSP, They can't touch SSI as that's a Federal payment, But the SSP part they can reduce and the Governor went to DC and among other things sought a waiver to Federal law hoping to reduce Medi-Cal and maybe the SSP down lower than CA is allowed and possibly all the way to zero. In July My income will be $850 a month(May and June $870 each month) and the Governor wants It to go to $830 in September 2009(the Federal minimum by law for California). Ok I've taken cuda offline as when I limited the 295 to one gpu instead of doing one WU correctly and then having WU's go 0-100% within seconds on the 2nd gpu, They just went from 0-100% on the one gpu and all that was doing was generating automatic 3-24 hour setbacks, as in No Reporting and No Downloads, I'll try again for Cuda on 6.6.20 when I get the Enermax psu and not before then. I had power supply issues yesterday as well Vic. That 6700 I bought from you smoked a 450W ps. LOL It was no surprise as I wasn't actually expecting to work as well as it did under those conditions I subjected it to. 24/7 crunching in a hot garage. Went to a local store and grabbed a 700W PSU. Now it's all better. |

Hi Super Joker, Pop and Bob, those cards, , GT(X)9800 (uses 80-110Watt) and especially 280/285/295 uses a lot of power. Thinking of a way to a exact measure the power draw of those cards, but I don't yet have a 285/290. One 9800GTX and a QX9650 (@3,7GHz), both @ 100% uses 270-300Watt, ~100Watt for the 9800GTX, a 550Watt PSU is enough, even the efficiency has risen from 82% to 94%, probably due to better spreading of the power draw. CPU & ChipSet/RAM uses much of the 3.3 and 5V, the GPU 5V and 12V. Once had a laboratory PSU, suitable for CPU use, with analog Volt and Amp meters, very usefull for testing, but a bit expensive and heavy! |

I had power supply issues yesterday as well Vic. Glad You fixed that, Sorry the cpu crushed the psu under load. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
