Task 11719982518 was completed 10th of March this year with a claimed credit of 1213.07 involved I've been wondering why this is still "PENDING" what is the holdup?

Since your computers are hidden, I had to try to load that Result ID into a URL manually, and it says that the WU is not found. Is that number correct? Can you provide a direct link for us?

Xen,
Your computers are hidden and we really can't go look at the WU by just it's number. If you could either unhide your Computers or provide a link it would be a big help. My first guess though would be slow or missing wingmen.

It seems to have one digit too many: SETI is still on its second billion tasks. My latest is task 1,210,820,914

This may explain why your wingmate hasn't completed it yet, LOL.

Edit - however task 1171982518, from the thread title, leads us to WU 418292000, where you can indeed see an unfortunate collection of wingmates - and captainbiptoe doesn't look much more hopeful.

This may be another reason for slow AP credits...

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=4511481

I have a wing man that has over 900 AP Wu's...not MB...in his cache still to be crunched and appears to be getting more daily. He is running a core duo rig @2.4 GHz without an optimized app if I read right. He is also running the client 6.2.14. He has only reported completed Wu's Feb 26th, March 6, and one in early April.

On my Q9550 with an optimized app I take approximately 12 hours to crunch an AP Wu which is all I crunch. That allows me to do a maximum of 8 AP Wu's per 24 hour period...which is what I am doing...24/7 crunching...power included in rent...lol.

My question is...how does one user get 900+ AP's that will add up to a lot of unhappy wing man due to the fact there seems to be no possibility of successful completion in time on a lot of them. I run a 10 day cache and I max out at around 75 AP"s on a quad. How does a Core Duo get 900+?

Is this a scheduler bug...or something else? Just wondering after a long night at work.

edit..I have re-posted this from another thread in hopes it gets noticed here.

In case you are not familiar with the way things work, every task has to be validated by two separate results. You finished your task on the 10th March, however with the other task 4 subsequent attempts have failed for one reason or another and the latest attempt also looks like it may not complete on time.

Not sure what happens after 5 failed attempts.

One reason why I prefer not to crunch astropulse WU's because there seems to be a higher failure rate than standard WU's

On April 10th I decided to run AP's exclusively on my quad. I have watched my RAC climb from 7200 to 9200 in just over a month. It only seems to go down now when my other 3 1/2 PCs report their MB WU's.

In my situation the time it takes to complete one AP is around 12 hours which gives me 1200+ credits and to complete the equivalent number of MB's gives me only around 800 credits. Would this ratio be true with all configurations? For me at least it seems Astropulse is the way to go despite the re-issue delays.

In the end I must say that I have almost always gotten credit for the work I have done...we just have to wait longer for the Astropulse WU's to be finally completed by my wingmen.

Thanks for the input everyone! I was just curious about this-and as far as unhiding my equipment I can't find the link LOL. Thanks anyways.

It's on your account page under SETI preferences...Should seti show your computers on it's websites?

I think captainbiptoe may well come through. Since last December his farm has accrued nearly 1.9 million credits. That Pentium-M system got the task when first attached, but unless it has cooling problems or is turned off most of the time should be easily able to complete the work.

I switched to OPT AP almost completly in March. This was during the time Seti had this DB problems. Since then my RAC went up from 4500 to over 9000 and still rising. But pending credits went up from 5000 to over 50000 showing the same issues as discribed. I only left one machine to crunch OPT MB AND OPT AP and it's interesting to see that this machine gets only very few MB Wu's. May be all this CUDA machines with 3 or 4 Nvida cards grab all those MB Wu's. But it's ok, by calculating the time to do OPT AP WU's and compare it to the time you need to do OPT MB WU's there is double credit you get. I guess there must be an atraction to do AP WU's ;-)

Xen,
Don't get too worried about that pending task. I have five tasks older than that in my pendings.

But one task I will start in the next few hours is a _7, meaning it is the 8th copy to be sent, the first copy _0 was issued on the 20th Feb and completed on the 25th Feb.

In quoting Ozzfan from an earlier post...

Eric has a script which will grant credit to the one person who successfully crunched the work unit and returned the result.

so those errors don't come into play any longer as long as you complete the WU.

It won't be necessary for Eric to run his script for this one. The _0 copy has been completed and is just awaiting my computer to complete it, 32.7% completed ~8:12 to completion. There are enough download errors, so that the "too many errors" flag has not kicked in yet.

I'm willing to bet that the reason your RAC keeps climbing is because of the Opt. AP that you've done started validating, since it can take a while for the RAC to kick in.

Since you've disabled AP, I'm willing to bet your increase in RAC will start dropping after it all clears out, and CUDA will be the only thing that saves your RAC (if you have it).
