You are invited to join some of the Seti Admins on Saturday May 23rd at Tilden Park in Berkeley. There is no entrance fee and food will be provided.

So what do you say, care to join the fun?

Yes there is a catch. A RSVP is required in order to have an accurate headcount. Please post it here or via a PM to me.

Feel free to post any question you may have here also.

Thank you
Uli

I wish I could make it to the party. I started crunching SETI on 1 July 1999. Silly me, I joined my BOINC account to a later classic account, so now I show as starting 19 Dec 1999.

It's amazing that this project has been going (on a shoestring budget) doing great science for 10 years! Hopefully we can get another 10 years of crunching, and maybe even locate that elusive real signal.

I expect that in another 10 years the time/WU will be down around 2 seconds. I remember crunching with a dual-Xeon 400MHz machine, and being amazed how fast I could crunch a classic WU. Look how far we've come. Now we have people crunching data on their *video cards*. How cool is that!

Best wishes to all.
Tim

I'm on Seti since it's inception... or close to.
I'm proud of it !!
And I'm still here, with my brand new Intel Core i7 920 Bloomfield.
I wish another 10 years to Seti At Home !!!

CONGRATULATIONS SETI
10 years in American terms is a pretty long time. But to us Canadians it is just another change in our lithium powered watches. Of course HWPTB might disagree.

I wish I could get there- I had planned to, but found I have another prior commitment, and I am around a 6 hour round trip- I have not been to Tilden since my time at Cal a different life ago-

I would love to come along, but alas I am on the other side of the world in New Zealand! I have been a member since day -1, according to my profile! I didn't realize I joined so early in the project. Those were the days, when it took almost two weeks to process one workunit on my P133mhz, running in a DOS box in the background - how things have progressed!
