Message 888538 - Posted: 26 Apr 2009, 18:44:56 UTC - in response to Message 888481.

So what's the plan or haven't we got that far?
Is someone going to do a CafePress or have shirts and items made?
(hats, shirts, coffee mugs etc)
Quantity purchase?
Are we going through Berkeley?
Are we ready to vote or still doing designs?

An important question (AGAIN). Who will be judging this contest?
Also, who will distribute the shirts with the SETI@home store being closed?

(Note: these stores are not associated with the BOINC project, and sales do not benefit BOINC)

To Johnney - though they - the stores 'could' change that rule to 'Benefit SETI BOINC' [ADmin - what say You ?]

Thanks for that, Richard. Since these sites allow you to create your own t-shirt it makes the contest pretty much obsolete, with the exception of 1 person getting a free one.

I was given the ok by Eric to open the t-shirt contest, but I will not be doing the judging. Feel free to post your votes here.

All you volunteered to make this 10th anniversary possible, so let the Admins know the design you like the best.

(I did volunteer to work out the ordering and shipping logistics.)

Again, who is doing the judging?
What criteria will be used? (Admin votes, mod votes, user votes? Not too many people in this thread.)

(I did volunteer to work out the ordering and shipping logistics.)

Cool. Will any proceeds be going to the project?

As suggested by moderator Uli, i am casting my vote if this is a user vote thing;

I vote for Misfit as the winner with this image here. Its very good, and its a nice simple design, good for printing on shirts.

Misfit you will probably get more enjoyment from the prize. I get more enjoyment from making the pictures.

John.

Is there a way to do a pole within this forum? If so line all the pics up, and take a vote.

The contest for the Anni T-shirt contest is now closed.

Please continue to post your favorites here, to help the Anon judges make a decision.

I like Misfit's entry for the same reasons Johnny G. posted. Very sharp!

. . . Misfit's is quite well done -

though i see Johnney's Design - Message 885866 - Posted 16 Apr 2009 19:08:20 UTC as a depiction of the 'vastness and beauty of the universe'

- which stands more to state that which SETI BOINC is [to me] all about . . .

I see several t-shirts that i would buy in a heart beat but the two that really get me are by misfit. My favorite is and the runner up is this one. http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=seti10colorextruded.png soory cant seem to link this one. And a great job to everyone who did a design.

I thought the idea was to have an 'official' 10 year shirt?
I guess all entries could be uploaded to cafepress.
Then you could put any one on a t-shirt or other item.
Nobody would have to worry about collecting money or shipping.
There is no cost for cafepress.

For what it's worth, I vote for this one too. The graphics a great while not being too busy. I would make one small change. I think that adding something like "10th anniversary" or "celebrating 10 years of searching" should be added so it would be clear that it is celebrating an anniversary and not look quite so much like it was marking a tombstone.

Which pic specifically? The one with the green alien, galaxy background?

My vote would go to this one also. Along with what has already been pointed out, the cosmic shot coupled with the striking shades of blue expresses the wonder, the unknown and the mystery that we are collectively trying to discover has we crunch away here at S@H.
