Message 886360 - Posted: 18 Apr 2009, 20:33:42 UTC - in response to Message 885934.

The background isn't as critical as the 10 year message.
But has added value if it is related and not just 'stars in space'.
I like that it came from a special source.
Makes a little bit of trivia for our grand kids :-)

This is 4 slightly different variations of the same image, each one has a link for small and very large images. Its nice to remember that SETI@home has used the Arecibo radio telescope for the last 10 years to search for other intelligent life in the universe. Its nice to remember why we do this.

btw, mine have transparencies so they can be used at zazzle or cafepress. Just upload the image to create the shirt. (The B/W background you see in the pic isn't really there.)

The ok has been given to start a contest for the 10th anniversary T-Shirt Logo design. I am not sure, if there will be a front and back, so post your creations with that in mind. The winning designer will receive a T-Shirt autographed by some or all of the staff at Berkeley. Can't join us in person, this is your chance to be part of the celebration.

This contest will be closed in two weeks.

An important question. Who will be judging this contest?

Here's another one with an Arecibo back-drop.

Anyone that viewed the last set of images i posted should refresh their screen on this message. I added a black border to the previous images like in this one.

:)

To my eye, this latest version is by far the most 'eye-catching'.

Nice work,

Cheers,
Martin

Johnney Guinness, you have very good pictures/ideas.
The top ranking pics for me would be:
Message 885609 (picture b)
Message 885866
Message 887209
But all the others are quite interesting and creative as well.
Good jobs!

I agree, John; very nice; if that one is the one that's chosen, I'd definitely buy a couple!

Thanks guys for the votes of support!

Here is a mock-up image to help visualize what one of the images might look like on a t-shirt.

6 t-shirts, the 2 on the top are polo shirts, the 4 underneath are normal collarless t-shirts.

I randomly found t-shirt pictures on the internet so the image is a bit rough. Also a small copy of the image could be put on the sleeve of the shirt, i did not put this in the image. You just have to use your imagination. At least this image helps you visualize what the t-shirts might look like.

I like the top 2 polo shirts myself. I used the "JG - M" image in the picture, the one with the sunny day at Arecibo :)

So what's the plan or haven't we got that far?
Is someone going to do a CafePress or have shirts and items made?
(hats, shirts, coffee mugs etc)
Quantity purchase?
Are we going through Berkeley?
Are we ready to vote or still doing designs?

thanks
