I wanted to test the 8500GT card in my VISTA host, a Q6600 stock, with optimized SETI MB & AP, runs very slow with a GPUgrid CUDA task. I added an cc_config.xml, with ncpu=5, which works OK. Is it the card, or something else? After 24 hours on 1 task it is now in High Priority, to meet the deadline. ![]() |

Um... aren't you on the wrong forums? Why not ask this on the GPUGrid forums? They are responsible for their own work, you know? |

I have a 8500GT in my PC. It does not meet the minimum requirements for running GPUGrid as it does not have the minimum 50 cores or the recommended 96 cores. In fact, I think it has less than 20!! |

It has 2 multiprocessors and 16 Stream processors. See http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=867, the card can be used, but with questionable outcome. |

my 8400gs (2 multicores 16 shaders) takes 4.2 days to return a 3k gpu grid wu and 2.5 hours for the average seti wu compared to my gts250 which is 11 hours and 15 minutes respectively.. so that sounds like your cards running fine. its just the gpu grid wu's are massive compared to seti. and they have a 4-5 day deadline. |
