The MBs are starting to trickle out. Just got a few. Not many but enough to keep my cuda fed for a little while anyway.

I got 18 before. 17 of them turned out to be VLARs so My Opt-app sent them back. All except one that my CPU picked up while cuda was dumping the rest of them. It has now moved over to my GPU since it was already started and is creeping along.

@ perryjay - That would be a major bummer!

With a blizzard going on and nothing else to do, I set up another computer today. I wanted to test it, but was only able to get 4 MB WU's. It's working, but they'll be done in a few hours. I read where Astropulse WU's might be available so I thought, 'What the heck' and decided to try to get one.

Be careful what you wish for. (heh heh)

I got one (v5) and the estimated time is 323 hours.

Oh well, at least it'll be busy for awhile!

(I'll go back to MB's when it finishes and leave the AP's to the crunchers with the monster machines. By that time the 'crisis' should be over).

;-)

323 hrs is probably an overestimate since your DCF (Duration Correction Factor) has not yet been adjusted from its starting value of 1. On that system the non-optimized generic app should be able do the work in 150-200 hrs.

You're right... it's been crunching for 6 hours and the estimated time is already down to 263 hours. It's the only WU on the machine now, but I'll wait until the server is fully back before I download any more. As long as it's busy...

Thanks

It will take several WU before your DCF is anywhere near were it should be. Since that is a dual core system I'd set Boinc in local preferences to a very small cache for now and let it get more work. This will let Boinc calibrate itself faster.
